(WT and NT Wags and Cheros are too narrow) From: "Mike" Subject: Need Rear Axle for J-10 Good Day All...Looking for a entire rear axle for a 1980 J-10 w/3.31 ratio. My best freind just purchased a 80 J-10 short wheel base townside truck with a 304 V8 & 4-speed trans for only $800. The engine even though WRONG, looks pretty new and the truck is pretty rust free and complete. If anyone has any ideas, please post them. Thanks again! Jim & John, put down those big wrenches that you are wielding at each other, walk to the center of the junk yard, and make nice. Deer me I think we have heard enough about hunting season. THis last digest was seriously lacking in Jeep contact. Let's end the thread on the mad deer disease. Your friendly List Admiral is watching. Until The Next Dimension, Admiral "Coluch." Besides, it's just the number of mounts that's the issue... Should work out fine. I put a 2" body lift on my '83 J10. If you go over 3" then there are some complications, like steering columns, gear shifts/linkages, brake lines, etc. But 2" you're pretty much ok. john - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 04 Dec 2002 12:17:28 -0800 From: john Subject: fsj: Re: Diesel-Powered Liberty To Debut in 2004 very cool, thanx Lee! Now, the problem will be to convince the wife that this "toon town" looking Jeep is a nice one... ;) I have tested them out and they don't handle nearly as well as the WJ or XJ, but they do ride nicer and are quieter then either. The controls for the windows have an obvious Mercedes influence as their in the center console. I had an '85 Cherokee with a Turbo Diesel, the only reason I got rid of it was that it had a 5 speed and my lower back couldn't handle it... :( Great economy, adequate performance and just a lot of fun. Would love to have another Diesel Jeep. john At 02:19 PM 12/4/2002 +0000, inflt-at-hotpop.com wrote: >thought you might find this of interest, Diesel John... *g*. > >Lee > >Begin Story ---------------------------------------- > >The following story appeared 11/26/2002 on 'mike's totally free jeep news' >(http://www.onetomany.com/jeepnews). > >Diesel-Powered Liberty To Debut in 2004 > >The United States could reduce its oil use by approximately 800 million >gallons and carbon dioxide emissions by 8 million tons annually, if >Americans purchased diesels at the same rate as Europeans, Dieter Zetsche, >President and Chief Executive Officer of Chrysler Group, said today. My son wants to sell or trade his 35x12.5x15 Cooper Discover Radial STTs mounted on 6 lug wide alloy rims. I think he may have spray painted the rims black, but that shouldn't be hard to remove if desired. http://www.wagoneers.com/FSJ/rigs/marks-77-cherokee/Sept19-2002/cherokee-35-2.jpg http://www.wagoneers.com/FSJ/rigs/marks-77-cherokee/chero-8-35s.jpg Lots of tread, good shape, barely used... He wants to go to 33x12.5x15s on the '79 Golden Eagle. (He's NOT going to take the sawzall to this Jeep... even though the body is already rough... ;) (also with a wide-trac it's not as necessary...) http://www.wagoneers.com/tmp/FSJ-2003/golden-eagle-2002.jpg (large) Anyway, we're up north of Seattle... I think he wants $600 for the tires and the rims, shipping is not a real attractive prospect... Not even sure if all the tires would fit in my WJ to bring 'em down to Portland, OR.. ;) Also, we're parting the '77 Cherokee out... 3.54 D44's fore and aft, 360 V8 with about 30K on it. I think he's going to keep the Offenhauser manifold and Edelbrock 1406, but the rest of it's fair game. It's got a real flexy suspension setup (see pix above). john ========================================================================== For Full Size Jeep help see: http://wagoneers.com/FSJ http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/tech - technical information http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/rigs - pictures of FSJ's http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/FSJ-list.html - FSJ list on digest.net http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/digests - list digests more info at: http://www.wagoneers.com/FSJ/FSJ-info.html ========================================================================== Snohomish, Washington, where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... remember, leaving life with out Jesus isn't recommended... ========================================================================== ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #1806 **************************
