Is anyone near Seattle heading for Florida? I have an '84 J10 axle someone needs in Jacksonville. (or possibly someone closer to there that has a 3.31 rear diff for a '80 or newer J10? Centered that is!) _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8. I'm sure there's plenty of folks down in the SE that can help him out. :) I've found that the rear axle on J10s are all centered, whether pre-80 or not, whether QT or not. The offset occurred on the wags to clear the gas tank. We're installing a '75 J10 axle on my '83. Might want to verify that the '77 J20 axle was centered... curtis, do you remember? Elliott? john - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Dec 2002 09:47:51 -0800 From: john Subject: fsj: I-5 Adventures traffic on I-5 was really ugly... dropped off some Jeep parts for SuperDawg in Centralia, picked up some for my XJ and continued on down I-5 to meet up with a list member from CA down here in Medford, OR. Dropping off the T-18 from my son's 77 Cherokee... Stopped and picked up some AMSOIL in Portland on the way down. Will change the oil in the '99 WJ when we get back. Let's see, I changed it about a year ago... been to LA twice, Ouray, CO, then Rapid City, SD. It's a little dark, but still at the level. :) I think there's probably around 25,000 miles on it now. Will have it analyzed for grins. I love having the extended drain intervals with amsoil. I'm dropping down to 5w30 to see if more fuel economy can be gained. We went from 18.3 to 19.6 switching to amsoil 20w50, then jumped up to just over 20mpg going to 10w40. the engineers at amsoil said I'd see another increase dropping my weight a bit more. I almost went to 0w30 series 2000, but the extra $20 (dealer cost!) per case was more then I wanted to do. I'm still bohemian ya know. :) We'll be flogging our way back up I-5 today and tomorrow... traffic was ugly in Portland and near Centralia. Need to help my son with his '79 Golden Eagle Cherokee, master cylinder... then whit is coming up on Sunday to pull the engine from the '77 Cherokee... So much for the Christmas break... :) shoot, have to go back to work on the 2nd, start teaching classes on saturdays on the 4th... sheesh... well, on the road again... see ya on the flip side... john - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #1821 **************************
