I have a tailgate here someone in CA needs (actually, he just needs the thick glass for his '76 Wag) From: john traffic on I-5 was really ugly... dropped off some Jeep parts for SuperDawg in Centralia, picked up some for my XJ and continued on down I-5 to meet up with a list member from CA down here in Medford, OR. Dropping off the T-18 from my son's 77 Cherokee... Stopped and picked up some AMSOIL in Portland on the way down. Will change the oil in the '99 WJ when we get back. Let's see, I changed it about a year ago... been to LA twice, Ouray, CO, then Rapid City, SD. It's a little dark, but still at the level. :) I think there's probably around 25,000 miles on it now. Will have it analyzed for grins. I love having the extended drain intervals with amsoil. I'm dropping down to 5w30 to see if more fuel economy can be gained. We went from 18.3 to 19.6 switching to amsoil 20w50, then jumped up to just over 20mpg going to 10w40. the engineers at amsoil said I'd see another increase dropping my weight a bit more. I almost went to 0w30 series 2000, but the extra $20 (dealer cost!) per case was more then I wanted to do. I'm still bohemian ya know. :) We'll be flogging our way back up I-5 today and tomorrow... traffic was ugly in Portland and near Centralia. Need to help my son with his '79 Golden Eagle Cherokee, master cylinder... then whit is coming up on Sunday to pull the engine from the '77 Cherokee... So much for the Christmas break... :) shoot, have to go back to work on the 2nd, start teaching classes on saturdays on the 4th... sheesh... well, on the road again... see ya on the flip side... john _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 helps eliminate e-mail viruses. I actually brought my backpacking sleeping bag along for warmth if I did get stuck at a road closure. Besides, the little experience I have with the cold weather and alcohol, you're more inclined to do something stupid when you mix the two, like play in the snow in your boxers. Extra drag, plus when you hit the century mark, they tend to flop around :) Seriously, with the fleet I have, I tend to forget what has decent wipers and what doesn't. Normally I use rain-x, but never put any on this jeep because of how lousy the tires are in the rain. Don't even try to make sense of that :) > I'll upload the pix in a bit, still unpacking... I need to move the tools from the jeep to the crown vic. The tools go with me whenever I go anywhere farther than I care to go back home to get them. The one time I forgot the tools, I found myself dropping a driveshaft on a bronco with a 12mm wrench bought from kragen using the 11mm that came in the same set for leverage. The upside is the bronco was 4wd, so we dropped the rear shaft and drove home in FWD. If she was a two wheeler, it would have needed a tow, since the yoke on the XC was toast. (then again, the problem wouldn't have happened if it wasn't in a lifted 4x4. *shrug*) > Siping my BFG's made a lot of difference on wet road, but I really > like my Michelin LTX's. LTX's seem a little on the tame side for what I would want - after all I never drive these things on the road ;) I dunno. I might get a set of michelin A/T's when the kirkland signatures wear out.
