We also have the Vancouver, BC facilities that aren't FDA approved and using slightly newer techniques, also good. My friends have been paying $2,400 to $2,600 for both eyes. The http://www.restorevisioncenters.com facility has the latest state of the art equipment and software, a renown surgeon and is priced at $1995 for both eyes. Seattle is a very busy area, they're near SeaTac and have people coming and going all day long! If you pay more it does NOT guarantee a better result. The processes, procedures and training of the staff, as well as the proven results are the determining factor. In other areas of the country I'd expect to pay more, and have inferior equipment. The prices are coming down as the procedure is optimized and recovery of the capital investment is realized. The key is the equipment, the software and the surgeon. Not the price... just my two cents... viewed from 20/15 and then some. ;) john On Sat, 1 Feb 2003, Dan Black wrote: >-->"Vince Orr" said: >-->{- Regarding Lasik surgery: >-->{- I just had my surgery last Tuesday. So I held it up to the XJ and found that the cutout for the bumper will work and it should bolt on fine. However it would be recommended to add some support as the XJ bumpers are not known for their strength. ;) Since I'm off work right now I'm starting to gather up parts, books and equipment I don't need and put it up on ebay in hopes of getting rid of some credit card bills (incurred fixing up Jeeps no doubt. ;) I'm hoping to trade the '76 280Z for a troubled '84 Mercedes 300CD and will need some cash to get it dialed in. I'm expecting to have to commute when I find a new job... the way things are going though it's not looking good... more places are laying off then hiring... anyway, the idea is fuel economy... ultimately when SuperDawg is done I'll probably be forced to sell this '87 XJ too, but it's a sweet machine despite the 241,600+ miles, ya gotta love those 4.0Ls. :) I also have some stuff that just won't ship easily... like a couple of TH400's and Quadratracs, a '54 Chevy box (going up on ebay nonetheless), extra rims and tires and so on... the stuff that will ship will be listed under "dieseljohn" http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/dieseljohn/ I'll post specific FSJ parts to the FSJ parts list. john meister snohomish, wa - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 02 Feb 2003 23:18:09 -0600 From: JeepNut Subject: fsj: AC Delco for SJ? Somebody posted a great link to a guy who has done some homework on oil filters and after reading it I'm convinced. NEVER again will I buy a Fram. But checking the AZone yesterday, their catalog doesn't list any AC Delco filters for an SJ. Most every other filter at AZone or WalMart are junk per the analysis of that excellent website. I did find the part number for the AC Delco (PH9 for '87 and newer with the metric threads) at Advance Auto, but they don't actually carry that part number. Where in the world do you get the full line of AC Delco filters? Anybody know? Neither AZone or Advance had many different ones. Advance does have the Purolators which were rated realtively well.
