Jim had it nailed. The only problem with your idea is the cost of having the 360 one rebalanced is that it is probably going to cost more than the $50-70 that the flexplate ran from CSK when I checked last. I'll pass this on to the FSJ list on digest.net, info on subsc ribing is in my sig file. Reusing the wallpaper could be tricky. I've seen it removed with a heat gun, but you have to be very careful as it'll tend to blister, burn and shrivel. Once removed it's likely you'll never get it back on, you'll need to buy new. As far as the clearcoat, not sure... again, I'm not a body & paint guy, but folks on the list are. :) Sign up and I'm sure you'll get the answers you seek, great bunch of folks. :) john meister ====================================================================================== To subscribe to a list on digest.net, EMAIL majordomo-at-digest.net, no subject needed, in the body: subscribe [ fsj | xj | diesel-benz ] end (note: select only one of the options in the brackets) You will need to reply to an authentication message. Ask for a '73 Matador 401 flexplate (cars ran 727) I finally verified this today. The Matador, Ambassador, and Javelin (and maybe others) all had a AMC401/TF727 combination in '73, so I should be able to get the flexplate from any. The Napa part number is 6005131, but they want $68. Arnold Motor Supply (may just be in Iowa or the midwest) has it as an ATP brand, part number Z224, for $63. Best price I found was from Jocko's (also don't know if that's outside Iowa or not) for $43. At that price, and because I prefer Jocko's, I probably won't bother searching online. (All three stores have to special order it, but sounds like they should all be able to get it.) Thanks for the help; I'll keep y'all posted on the progress! - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reality can be a drag, but it's the only place that you can get a good steak. - -------------- Dan Black ------------------------- dan-at-black.org -------------- ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #1870 **************************
