I'm guessing no news is bad news... - - Landon ***************************************************** Well, if you must know......... I sent John some pictures, after loosening the timing cover, draining the coolant, and picking out loose pieces of gasket and goop in the area of the leak, I squirted in some black silicone and let it cure for a couple of days (been really cold here and my garage isn't heated). Went out Sunday and tightened down the cover, put the fuel pump and power steering pump back on and filled Rez with coolant. Fired Rez up and let the engine come to temp. Worked like a charm, no leaks. Thanks Jim!!! But I discovered a problem with the electric choke wire coming off. Fixed that. Then I discovered that the kick down wire loop piece came off the kick down lever and was causing the throttle to stick on the edelbrock carb. I'm going to have to fabricate a new one since this old one is not going to work. Needs to be about 2 - 3 inches longer. So, partial success getting Rez to run I guess. Weather man says could get up to 6 inches of snow tomorrow night. Got about 2 inches this afternoon. Cold and snowy in Chicago! I may take Rez out for a spin just for fun. I don't think having the kick down disconnected will matter for a short run.....or will it? - --Vince '81 Wagoneer ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 03 Mar 2003 18:53:34 -0800 From: "Jim B" Subject: fsj: fwd: Air and road parts scavenger trip bill821-at-webtv.net (Bill Allen) Air and road parts scavenger trip =A0=A0=A0=A0I will be on a plane Sunday the 9th of March to philly then a bus to Hazelton Pa.(near I 80 & I 81) to pick up an 83 Eagle SX/4 that I'm hopeful will be able to make it back to West Palm Beach Fl. The transmission doesn't care if you lock it in second around town or whatever, in fact, if your tranny is hunting a lot, it might prefer being placed in second. But, if you're running manually like that, you still need a kickdown linkage, since even though you're manually doing the kickdown, there is still the line pressure issue that you need to deal with. I was going to take this thing to the HUGE Pyuallup 4x4 swap meet next weekend, but haven't found anyone that can make it. Wideone corp of CA took a stock B350 extended van and split it front to back, then put on a custom high cap and extended JUST the RH axle shaft a foot. When the bearings loosen up at all, the axle gets twisted off in the diff side gears. MFSJC: I'm trying to get to the Flea Market so I can sell my exce$$ stuff to finish Black Jack!
