A: Actually, they could come on any of the Kaiser rigs till '69. From: Dan Black Subject: fsj: rhino chaser grille on eBay (35min left!!) If anybody sees this come in, there's a rhino chaser FSJ grille on eBay ending in just over 35min, currently at $61. It says "early 1960's" in the title and 1968 in the description, but I believe these were between those two, more like '63-65 or '64-66 -- the first two or three years of the FSJs, whatever that figures out to. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2423828028 ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Jul 2003 09:39:49 -0700 From: "Jim B" Subject: Re: fsj: Re: 68 Wagoneer A: For stock exhaust, drop a line to georgejeep-at-aol.com For headers, it's either Fred's or Ed's headers that make them still (cu$tom) The size of the pipes will determine the RPM band the motor produces power at (smaller tubes = lower RPM torque band) and if you have them ceramic coated, extra heat is minimal or less than stock exhaust. As for the gaskets, any slop in the motor mounts creates a flex in the pipes, which wipes out the gaskets. Using copper gaskets is the better bet for permanent seal too. From: john Subject: fsj: Re: 68 Wagoneer I'd check with an AMC or Nash site... headers only work to develop more power at higher rpms, they do little to help low end torque and are a major pain, as far as I'm concerned. They add heat to the engine compartment, noise and have to be retorqued often. The stock manifolds will serve you better... unless of course you can find an excellent quality set... but since that motor isn't exactly a common one you'll have some challenges. :) john At 07:04 PM 7/21/2003 -0700, Kurt wrote: "Kurt" <1-at-cyberpigue.com> >John, >I have a 68 Wagoneer with the 327 Vigilante motor. Stage 8 makes nice ones, various other products out there. Ran a set on my old 396, which formerly loosened bolts weekly, never had a problem again. If anyone ever sees John Wieboldt again, from the old list, he never paid me for the truck that motor was in. Pretty rotten. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Jul 2003 19:21:15 -0700 From: john Subject: Re: fsj: headers which "old" list, when? don't remember him... john At 11:38 AM 7/23/2003 -0600, Tacoma White wrote: > for all those who hate the retorque: get header locks.
