Bummer; have been out of work myself over a year now. Got some cash together, and need to get the 89 USS GW back on the road. Since I have only been driving it for 20 minutes every three weeks the front seal has let go in the 727. Tried the STP trick but it can not stop the flow when the rig sits over time. 1 how many gurats of trany juice will it take to refill the entire system. I'm going synthetic, and want to give enough trany juice to my buddy so he can refill after he puts the trany back in. 2 If the trany is coming out anyway now is the time to make it a better unit, and more strong. 2A I want much firmer shifts, and better power across the full driving range. I also want this trany to be really strong. 2B you posted awhile back the best way to rebuild a 727, and what extra parts to add to make my above dreams come true. I know I should know this already, but... does anyone know the spline count on the AMC th400's? I"m brewing up a conversion scenario, swapping out the "not in Salt Lake " Quadratrac for the "in everyone's backyard" NP205, of which I have no less than 3 in the garage, and more on the way. The plan, for the techies, is this: IF the splines match, I have a Ford 205 w/32spl input, and will have an adapter made and machined to fit the 2 together. Of course, swapping the shaft into a GM 205. OR I can get a GM auto 205 and deal with that. It's a grand scheme lol.. The main thing is the spline count. If I get and adapter made, I'll keep the blueprints or make more. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 6 Aug 2003 14:49:22 -0700 From: Kevin Pekarek Subject: Re: fsj: amc th400 spline count? If I wanted to put a NP205 behind a TH400 in a jeep, I'd probably swap the output shaft of a GM TH400 into the jeep TH400 so that the splines matched. A junk TH400 shouldn't cost you much in a junkyard. The couch ate it. My wife performed the surgery to remove the yellowed pages from the deep and dark bowels of the sofa's innards. And here we thought a thief in the night went through our sacred glovebox, (not an uncommon act in our neck of the woods). In the LA area, if it ain't tied down or locked up, it will eventually show up on ebay. But, we also found the receipt for the owners manual which was purchased from the previous owner. So, if anyone needs a new manual, we'll post the phone # and address. They didn't mention the price, or the model of the supercharger, but did describe the install. It sits on top of the a/c? bracket on the driver's side. I would guess that'd be the ps pump on an XJ. It did sit up a bit so it wouldn't clear the hood of an XJ, but it would clear the hood on my J10. :) someone else suggested superchargers.com... downloading netscape 7.1 right now so surfing on dialup is not a viable activity... heading in to watch some tv with the better half... any info on blowers for 4.0l's would be welcome. not sure I'll need one, but if it's affordable it'd be pretty nice... :) later, john - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold...
