I'd recommend getting the springs as well, yours are probably 2", the newer sj 2.5". You might want to take the shackles/mounts and have them installed on yours at Airport Welding... would be an excellent upgrade for you. john At 06:47 PM 9/5/2003, allyoop wrote: >I've spotted a junk Cherokee Chief (wide track) with Quadratrac and I want >to know what issues I'll run into swapping the disk/drum axles into my 1973 >J4000 truck. > >Thinks like spring position/spacing, U joint connections, steering rod >connections and so on. > >Also would the fact that I'm replacing a Dana 60 rear axle with whatever's >in the Cherokee (probably a Dana 44) make a difference? Hi fellow FSJ'ers. I have a question I am hoping to get the answer to. I have been wanting to replace my ignition system on a 87 Grand Wagoneer with something more reliable. I have been looking at Zack Heisey's HEI Distributor or converting to MSD coil & ignition with the ignition upgrade listed in IFSJA's tech forum. Which is the better way to go? I have emailed Zack and am leaning toward that solution for its ease of installation and simplicity. I am wondering if any of you have any comments or experience with either system to share. My Wag is also converted to run exclusively on LPG fuel so all the pollution control equipment has been vacated. I am not sure if this will have any bearing on which system I should choose or not. Thanks in advance. Dalan Hawker 87 Grand Wagoneer ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #2010 **************************
