SUV, The word is an oxymoron and has nothing to do with real 4X4. They are making the SUV into a luxury vehicle. I remember my first Cherokee Chief, I though automatic and air conditioning was too much. Now they have so many moving parts they must think we own garages to repair all the U-joints much less all the silly stuff like TV's. Even the Humvee has been down graded to a SUV. What has happened to a 4X4 that you take into the woods to camp and fish, take to the beach to surf fish. with all the luxury appointments and the cost a person would be crazy to brave the swamp in one of the new suvs. Is any one around the world licensed to make the old full sized Cherokees? I saw in a recent movie that portrayed a south American country and they seemed to have lots of what appeared top be brand new full sized Cherokees. Is it possible they are being made somewhere else and just not sold here? It's starting to look like swiss cheese! I'll most likely rust convert, then pour in fibreglass resin (wish I could get the Kevlar stuff still! I bet the part of my floor I fixed in my '70 Datsun pickup is still solid while the rest of the truck rotted off!) From: "Jim Rogers" Subject: fsj: Re: J-10 body repair Here are links to "Rust Destroyer" http://www.rust007.com/html/rust_destroyer_info.htm and "Extend" http://www.meyerplastics.com/adhesives_seal_tape/extend_rust.htm They essentially chemically convert rust into primer. After reading up on POR-15, it looks like "Extend" and "Rust Destroyer" are equivalent to step 2 of their 4 step process. POR-15 sounds like a good product, but I think I still like "Extend" followed by undercoating for its ease of application. Also, undercoating remains flexible, which means it's less likely to crack and let water in. Not to mention is makes for effective sound deadening. Just my two cents worth. Everyone has their preferred methods. This one has worked well for me over the past twenty years of so. Jim Rogers 67 Super Wagoneer (Restoration in progress)Get more from the Web.
