A: The cork just came out of my email and I received this Sat at 2AM. I assume you mean TH400 flexplate (since no Jeep came stock with 401 and standard trans from the factory) It will depend on whether you have the uni-pattern or later TH400 (different plates as I found out the hard way) I have an early one with chipped teeth that is still usable, but I'm in Seattle. From: "Phillips, Scott" Subject: fsj: Need Flywheel ASAP! I had plans to go to Moab this weekend but as I was pulling the 401 out last night to replace it with the 360 I "remembered" that the 401 flywheel is weighted differently than the 360. Anyone know where I can get an AMC 360 flywheel ASAP (as in by Friday) so I can still make a trip to Moab? ScottGet more from the Web. They aren't actually the same thing. Folk running manual trans never ask for a flex plate 'cause they don't make flex plates for manuals. Folk with auto trannies will occasionally confuse a flex plate for a flywheel... but I doubt you will often see a vendor listing a flex plate as a flywheel. Good point to clarify though. Since you can get a flex plate on every corner, I figured correctly that he was looking for a flywheel. They were made for the 401s used in the autos and can be a little harder to locate. $140 is about the going price for a factory 401 flywheel. Parts Mike has them for a little less, 4wd.com has 'em, and American Performance I believe. He got notice of having too many vehicles and it needed some MORE repairs. (I fixed most of the wiring today) The new doors have glass in them and it has a tailgate that has glass too. An '83 2 dr parts rig that has perfect rear 1/4s and floors to fix the '79 comes with it. (no axles on the parts rig and only 1/3 of a roof) that's where we found it... in the woods... :) will have to post pictures of Mark's latest... john elliott sydnam wrote: >Hey that was my rig before John/Mark had it (those >aren't my bullet holes either), man that thing gets >around!
