I looked around a few months ago with the idea of getting a Chevy 350 and whatever the standard tranny with overdrive is (4L8E or something? that's not right...), but even the specialty shops didn't have anything for that. So you're looking at swapping pretty much the entire driveline. Messy stuff. Of course, if you find anything I missed, let the list know, but I looked fairly extensively and came up with a lotta nuthin'. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- this unit not labeled for individual sale - -------------- Dan Black ------------------------- dan-at-black.org -------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 20 Dec 2003 22:29:47 -0600 From: "Brian Tegtmeier (Mec)" Subject: fsj: slow coolant leak I have had a slow coolant leak that seems to drip from the rear main seal area. I regularly see green droplets coming from it. I took it in for an oil change today and asked the guys to look underneath for the source of the leak. They couldn't locate it. I have checked the hoses which are not very old, I had replaced all 2 years ago along with the water pump. Someone told me that to maybe check the frost plugs. Are these accessible to view/repair without taking out the engine. Any other ideas of things to check? I checked the Haynes index for frost plugs and couldn't find anything. I have almost 130K on the odometer.
