The rear Dana 44 is -at-'86 to '91 ('80 to '86 are Model 20 which don't interchange unless you swap the whole axle). The front is '80 to '91 narrow track. (All stock '80 to '83 Wags, '80 - '83 Cherokee fullsize 4dr, 2dr w/o flaired fenders and some 2drs with flairs. The other 2drs with flairs are Widetrack and so are Pickups) I tried '79 and older axles, but they don't swap side to side in the front and the rears are RH offset. What happened to your shafts? If they are still in one piece (or at least still measurable) you can get new, stronger ones made up for -at-$300 the pair by Moser. (I already looked into it) From: Jason Woodward Subject: fsj: Need some Grand Waggy Axle Shafts I have a D44 out of a '91 Grand Waggy. So I got a question for ya: What are the years for my year D44? '86-'91? Are they interchangable from year to year (say like an '82 to the '91?)? I need some shafts for the rear and figures you guys might have an extra set . . . TIA for the help . . . - - -Jason ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 17 Feb 2004 19:35:09 -0800 From: john meister Subject: Re: fsj: RE: Jason on Shaw cable.net talk about a bunch of clueless internet lusers... ;) silly boys, linux doesn't get viruses, only microsoft lusers do... the way these things work is that someone who is clueless (read a microsoft outlook and internet explorer luser) opens an attachment, the virus then grabs all the email addresses it can find on that system and then with it's own microsoft powered smtp engine begins propagating itself all over the place, spoofing itself to look like non-lusers. :) virus definitions? what is that, like a weekly magazine or is an encyclopedia set? For what you pay for that useless piece of obsolete code you could buy the full server version of SUSE complete with Open Office, Thunderbird and Mozilla. :) the only problem (seriously) with virus s/w is it's always out of date... Your best defense is to not use tools that are defective, especially microsoft outlook(express) and internet explorer. On my windoze pc I use Eudora, Thunderbird and Netscape/Mozilla. Yes, I could get an infection if I opened an attachment, but I don't think it would propagate very far without the required outlook address book file. It would find a few addresses in web pages and such on my disk... But since I primarily use my SUSE Linux system with Thunderbird and Netscape the viral code would die an inglorious death looking for all those susceptible DLL's. :) So, you guys get a clue, and get SUSE linux... it rocks. :) (fwiw, I have this system dual booted to XP, just in case I need to use windoze for something... so far I haven't booted into XP since I've had this system... :) I guess the only thing I can't do in Linux is get a virus... not that getting a worm or virus is not possible in UNIX/Linux because it is. But the system is designed better and it's extremely less likely. Maybe I should write a sequel to Biff and Billy Bob and their adventures on the FSJ list... ;) john Paul and Megan Kershner wrote: > I got an e-mail that apparently had a virus on it from John Meister and > one from Michael Shimniok, too. There are 50 rigs chosen, from which 10 will compete. There is only one Cherokee XJ, mine. It is listed as rig #2, NUMBER TWO, please remember this and vote my rig, my codriver Richard G and me in!! To recognize the correct magazine issue, there is a blue Ford F-150 on the cover and the letters "FOUR WHEELER" are in bright yellow. I am counting on the hardcore XJ crowd to vote for us even if it is because we are the only XJ entered this year. The picture of my rig posted on the magazine plain stinks compared to most of the ones on these links: http://www.wagoneers.com/XJ/rigs/DanStarc-89XJ/ALL2-pix.html http://www.wagoneers.com/XJ/rigs/DanStarc-89XJ/ALL-pix.html http://www.wagoneers.com/XJ/rigs/DanStarc-89XJ/DansXJ-Feb3-2004/ALLpix.html This is because I did not have good resultion on most of my pictures...oh well... Again, thanks to those who regularly buy the magazine and participate in the voting. I appreciate your support.
