Power windows, brakes and steering. or an old model that was designed as a work truck with a comfortable ride. the first SJ model, Jeep Wagoneer, was introduced in November 1962, the 1963 Model year... decent ride? The suspension was the same from 1963 until 1991. :) Power stuff? probably mid-70's would be your best bet for more options... Super Wagoneer ran from '66 to '68(9?) so you could get all the goodies with one of those. :) john ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://wagoneers.com ** ** http://freegift.net ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Aug 2004 03:04:25 EDT From: Brazzadog-at-aol.com Subject: fsj: Re: propane injection John, Sometime this summer I read an article in one of the 4x4 mags describing a new phenomenon of drag racing late model diesel 4x4s. As I recall, they were all using propane injection and posting quarter mile times that shamed alot of "muscle" cars. If I run across that article I'll let you know. The suspension was the {- same from 1963 until 1991. :) Not exactly. The basics were the same, but they did change things over the years. My '74 FSM mentions something about improved suspension (though comparing it to my '88, eek, can't believe that was an improvement). I know the '88 has a rear anti-sway bar, which the '74 doesn't. And I know they changed the position and angle of at least the rear shocks a few times. (I think '74-76 or some range like that is an oddball; you can get Rancho 5000s, but not Rancho RSXes. And I saw some undercarriage pics; they really are positioned differently. I think one set even goes left to right instead of front to back.) - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Landing: (n.)
