yup.
that's the idea.
i wasn't aware that the factory carbs came with those plates, as my first
(and only) FSJ cam with an intake manifold and holley already on it.
if they DID come from the factory with one, then i'd probably replace it as
good assurance.  i've seen OEM spacer plates fail miserably on other
vehicles and cause rediculous vacuum leaks.

John's wrong.  They look great.  :)

Plus they make a really nice, intimidating howl (not your average
high-pitched tire squeal) when someone pulls right in front of you and
you lock up the brakes.  AMHIK.  :P
