As for TCa$e adapter$, unless you use a Jeep TH400 output shaft to the transfercase, it'll set you back some. (QTs aren't hard to come by, but I'm going NP208 because I need strength more than 4 wheel traction on the road) Is it possible to take a th-350 or maybe even a th-400 and a chev smallblock 350 and just use motor mount adapters and a transfer case adapter? (Might be >-->interesting to see a engine try and cool itself >-->by blowing air out the front of the radiator) you know, I hadn't thought of that issue... however, on the '99 WJ's the fan is dead center on the water pump just like in the "good old" days of the 258/360... the 4.0L's in the XJ's of course had the fans off center... but you do bring up a good point, they could make twist and turns with that belt and I could create a real problem. thanx! will do more research on this before proceeding... that's why these lists are so useful... the cumulative wisdom of those that have "BTDT". Today I went down to get some Jeep Liberty 16" rims to put my new tires on (for my Comanche) but they were offset inwards 1" more than the originals, so my 255/85/16s (33/10/16) would've hit the steering arms at full turn.
