Supposedly this is funded by Ford; makes sense... every explorer or bronco ii I've driven frightened me... they are indeed unsafe for any kind of performance driving in the hands of the average driver. I can think of no other vehicles that I felt that I could roll at will... including the suzuki samari... even a lifted XJ without sway bars feels safer... :) john ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://wagoneers.com ** ** http://freegift.net ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 01 Feb 2005 21:25:52 CST From: Dan Black Subject: fsj: Real Jeep A friend sent me this... http://glocktalk.com/showthread.php?s=1b379aeff24b649675da175292a6ad05&threadid=338955 Wow, talk about going down a list and saying, "Yeah, yep, uh-huh, yeah, well of _course_, yeah..." - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I used to live in the real world, but I got evicted. - -------------- Dan Black ------------------------- dan-at-black.org -------------- ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Feb 2005 19:56:49 -0800 From: "Jim Blair" Subject: fsj: Re: Real Jeep Problem is a lot of them aren't strong enough descriptions for our Jeeps! This allows the air to come up the line closer to the opening. You may have lost the line going to the back, so I would get a penny nail (one with a flat head and diameter larger than the hole of the brake line, but smaller than the inner thread of the master so it can slip inside the brake line (after cleaning all contaminants off it) and fit into the master cylinder to block off the brake line. This is certainly a MUST have for offroading in case you rip a line off in the bush. (better to have some braking than none!) Since this is good info, I'm cc'ing the Jeep lists with it too. (just so no-one replies with expletives expecting it to only go to the Social club) From: "Don Hansen" Subject: Re: Don's plow job That and ramming into snowbanks and popping drive-neutral-reverse stuff! If it ever gets warm I'll bleed the lines. I had to replace the master cylinder in the middle of the last snow storm and I lost the little plastic dingus that holds the bleeder lines in the reservoir, thus I did a less than optimal job of bleeding the MC! F***ing FSJ's..... Oh, one of the lines broke off, natch' and I had to flare in a new fitting... All this in a 15 degree blowing snow.... ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Feb 2005 21:22:57 -0800 From: "Jim Blair" Subject: fsj: NV-231 Speedo Gear Swap Need a speedo gear?
