Jeep Diesels? :) All the 250 chev 6 engines prior to 74 had separate intakes and exhaust manifolds. The 75 and newer 6 chevs had the IIM EGR one piece design and were very prone to cracking. Sold a ton of these when I worked at the bone yard. Dennis ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 6 Feb 2005 21:06:10 -0800 From: "Jim Blair" Subject: fsj: Re: Re: popcorn required: willys ideas? Jeep Diesels? :) A: 292 has 6" tall lifter covers and the rest are 4" (pretty easy to spot) There was also a 194 ('62 to '67 Nova mostly) 235 and 261 (those are Stovebolt motors though. Had a 261 in a '55 Pontiac that was named Sparkling Blue on the car show circuit. I ended up wrestling a 354, the 409's little brother, with a 4 speed into that after busting most of the pistons in the 261) you are probably right... what other clues or marks should I look for?
