I couldn't put it back in by hand... didn't bother to break out the c-clamp. The passenger side caliper easily pushed in with my fingers when off the vehicle. I put over 100lbs of pressure on the other one and it didn't budge. It really smelled of burnt brakes too. :) I used my mity-vac vacuum brake bleeding attachment... didn't work very well... I broke out an old one man brake bleeder tool that worked much better... so much for another "investment" at harbor freight. In other news... I test drove a couple of cars for fun today... the new mustang, and my friends '86 635CSi. It is not an actual M6, but has some of the M6 stuff... suspension and engine chip... rear deck... not sure what else... I've always wanted a 633/635CSi... but after driving his I realized I'm much happier with my '91 300D. The beemer is sweet though... http://wagoneers.com/tmp/BMW/Feb19-details/ it's a super clean car, but with 187,030 miles I'm not sure what we should try and sell it for, any ideas? Also saw the new Ford Escape Hybrid. Didn't drive it, have driven Escapes before, they're ok. If the hybrid could tow 5,000lbs it might be a serious contender for the Snohomish Monster Garage, er Carport. But for $30K I can do better... funny EPA estimate... 36 city, 31 highway. :) Waiting for the water pump on my '91 300d... got all new BFG Traction T/As yesterday and a 4 wheel alignment today... Have to drive the Jimmy to church tomorrow... sold the extra set of tires for it... at 19mpg and $2.49/gal for Diesel I'd be as well off driving a Full Size Jeep with an AMC 360! :) What's up with these fuel prices??? If I don't sell the Jimmy pretty soon I may give some thought to using waste vegetable oil. :) The '58 Willys is about a week out... maybe two... Superdawg??? haven't talked to curtis in a long time... he's been busy working on his shop and I've just been busy, way too busy... I'm hoping it'll be this year... I am thinking of getting my daughter a Cherokee, if anyone in Seattle or Portland has a nice clean XJ for sale. I'll be selling her '91 Grand Am, it's clean and only has 124,000 miles... runs great... Her car is worth about $2k, not sure if I'll find a nice XJ in that price range, but I've seen quite a few... Kind of miss our XJ. If we could find one that rides nice I think the wife would get rid of her WJ. She prefers the XJ for parking and it's nimbleness in tight spots. The WJ of course is a great road car. I still need to sell the '83 Jimmy with the 6.2L Diesel... the STP treatment did help the transmission quite a bit. Had no trouble hauling gravel and topsoil today in the J10 hydraulic dump trailer... It's just too dang big. I have to hook the trailer up to the front to get it around the carport and into the backyard when dumping gravel. If I try to back it around I end up over the edge... of course it's so wide there's little danger of it rolling. :) later, john ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://wagoneers.com ** ** http://freegift.net ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Feb 2005 08:53:54 -0800 From: "Jim Blair" Subject: fsj: Re: the rear caliper was seized NAPA sells brake bleeders with the check valve built in now. Just need an old one to compare to for match up. I need to dig up some for my Comanche so I can bleed all 4 wheels at once, and get one for the clutch slave cylinder too! ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Feb 2005 08:36:18 -0800 (PST) From: elliott sydnam Subject: fsj: Did you get your Jeep dually JTruck Jim?
