Forwarding this I got from Randy Guynn: O.K. Even More impportant news. I got a call from my Crown rep today. He told me to not sell or use Any of the AMC V8 Cam gears they have shipped over the last few months. I was told ''All are bad, they were not heat treated correctly, do not use them, they cannot do anything except fail.'' Just FYI, I only have a few because I priomarily sell real Mopar/Jeep pieces. I stock a few Crowns for thr extra cheap guys that will not pay for the good parts. One way you can tell if the pieces is a Real Mopar/Jeep, is a real one will be in a Plastic bag with blue/white direct print Mopar logo. If you bought a Cam Gear and it came in a ''box'' then it is an Import, Beware, be very aware, you could be digging gear chunks out of the oil pan. Please let folks know, I don't want anyone getting stung if it can be helped. Very discouraging to build a fresh engine and dump metal shavings into the crankcase. I had a few lights mounted on the sides... I had a dirt floor because it was hardpan and had trouble digging it with a backhoe. I had kind of a steep ramp with 2x2's nailed on the front end, and 2x4's nailed to a piece of plywood on the back end. Access was always a work out. :) It was nice for welding and servicing... shaved a lot of time off of a rack and pinion replacement on a car... :) dropping a transfer case had an all new meaning... those old Model 20's sure were heavy and made a solid thud when dropped about six feet onto hardpan. :) Luckily I'm quick and my feet were out of the way in time. :) It was a disgusting mess most of the time... I had plywood sections to cover it up... all were oily and greasy... If I ever do another one I'll make metal covers from diamond plating. I still long for a shop... I have that hillside across from the current single car garage/carport... I could set it up with access from a second floor... would be pretty cool... all it takes is money... and the wife's approval... not sure which is harder to get. ;) john >-->> http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/GarageScenes-Jan92.jpg >-->> http://wagoneers.com/XJ/GarageScenes-Jan93-XJ.jpg >--> >-->Neal A.
