I wonder if I can mount my spare tire on the side of my stepside bed on SuperDawg ('83 J10)... Anywya, the Gladiator doesn't look too bad... The constant is I that I never stopped driving my FSJ. I am asking for any input regarding a head swap out. Currently I run stock heads on a 88 360, with towing cam, edelbrock intake and 4bbl carb, custom exhaust, everything rebuilt about 70K ago. The motor is still strong but the valve guides are awful and require replacement. My question is, are there any earlier AMC 360 or 390 heads that flow dramactically better than stock and add 1 or 1.5 points of compression? The exception is I am not interested in swapping out accessories, brackets, etc. Does anyone have spec's for my heads so I have a baseline? Also, I need a passenger side visor (I have an overhead console, they are considerably shorter) for the 88. Any suggestions are welcome, thanks in advance, Greg ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 9 Jan 2006 10:36:04 -0800 (PST) From: elliott sydnam Subject: Re: fsj: heads, parts needs Check this link out, but if you go too early you lose the dog leg exhaust port: http://www.yagid.com/pic/Tech/headspecs.jpg - --- budferlife22-fsj-at-yahoo.com wrote: > Hello folks, > > It's been quite a while since I have been a member > of this list, I am thinking '95 or 96? > > The constant is I that I never stopped driving my > FSJ. > > I am asking for any input regarding a head swap > out. I noticed that the "new" jeeps are getting -K designations, what the heck is that???? don't the folks in DC understand the significance to marketing and owner awareness that -J has to be part of the naming??? how clueless have they become? At least the proposed gladiator has live axles fore and aft, the kj/wk and so on don't... I don't mind esp, abs, etc. fuses usually can be pulled to bypass that, but it's hard to put in a live axle... ;) john > --> > -->----- Original Message ----- From: "Vincent Bentley" > -->To: > -->Sent: Monday, January 09, 2006 12:08 PM > -->Subject: xj: Off Topic: New Wrangler > --> > --> > -->> I guess I will have to see one in person before I make up my mind but I > -->> doubt we will be trading up our TJ in a hurry.
