If you don't have the ordered the Revo's today... not cheap, even with a discount at discount... but all things considered I think they'll be excellent. all the reports, list members, pictures, specs... all point to an excellent tire. That and the used Blizzak's I picked up this summer are superb tires. The next thing on the WJ is the rear bumper... it's all converted to Amsoil synthetics... not sure if I want to do a replacement aftermarket bumper, the one that Dave suggested is excellent, but even with a discount it's still a lot of money... (too many projects) got an idea for something that might work, need to crawl underneath and look... stupid plastic bumpers... ;) heading back outside to finish pulling the windshield out of the CJ-2a. have the towbar hooked up, going to pressure wash it and take it to maaco for paint. managed to get a tire on my son's old xj, now it won't start... going to try and drag the willys around it first... this weekend I'm heading over to pick up a T-90 and Dana 18, bring my friend home and let him drive the '87 xj back to his house on the peninsula... then I need to pull the t-90 and fix it... replace the starter in the cj, reinstall all the parts removed for painting, install the top and voila, a "new" '48 Cj-2A... decided on white... easy to touch up, as I'm sure as it sits around it'll need it. ;) a day with out rain, need to get outside and get something done... our record was not reached... rain streak stopped at 27 days... the record was 33 set in 1953... ;) hey jim, when are you coming by for these tires? john '99 WJ x2 (4.7/4.0) '48 cj-2a '75 j10 hydraulic dump trailer soon to depart '87 xj soon to return with a 6.2L Diesel... '83 j10 stepside... (soon??? :) (got to see shadowfax today, derick dropped by for a brief visit on his day off...) ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://JohnMeister.com **** http://wagoneers.com ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold ** http://freegift.net *** http://greatcom.org/laws/languages.html ** - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Jan 2006 19:53:50 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: fsj: at least one project is moving forward... I'm determined to get some of these projects done... - wj tires (in work - this week? ordered Bridgestone A/T Revos) - wj bumper - may run out of money before energy... waiting :) - cj - '48 cj-2a: - paint (stone white) done by Friday, twice what I expected to pay. - fix starter - Fri/Sat? - replace seals/install hardware etc (12v wipers, side spare, w/s seals, etc.) - reinstall seats, etc. - install Bestop - this weekend??? - fix T-90 - ??? - prepped the cj for painting last night - towed to maaco this morning... I pressure washed it, removed the windshield and hooked up my towbar (first time to use it... amazed that the willys actually stayed attached! (thankful too!) Guess that was a good investment, might modify it a bit so it's easier to use with the Willys... - the cj is at maaco in Everett right now... they let me back in the shop to visit the patient... oh man, is it smooth, clean and looking good... went with stone white, same color as my wife's '99 WJ laredo... also the color I've decided to paint Superdawg (my '83 J10 Stepside that's getting the 6.2L Diesel) pix at: http://wagoneers.com/Willys/48-CJ-2A/CJ-paintprep/ all pix at: http://wagoneers.com/Willys/48-CJ-2A/CJ-paintprep/ALL.html http://wagoneers.com/Willys/48-CJ-2A/ I need to get over to the peninsula to pick up the transmission and xfr case... then the '87 XJ will go away... that T-90 has a broken main shaft... the T-90 in the Willys has a bad 2nd gear, hoping I can swap the main shaft myself... especially since I spent too much on the WJ tires and CJ paint. ;) - the J10 hydraulic dump trailer is going to get some attention next. I am going to mount eyebolts through the bed into the custom frame so I can mount a come-along/winch setup and drag stuff up into the raised bed. Had to have my neighbor bring his tractor over to load up the Waste Veggie Oil I was bringing over to Bruce's to turn into biodiesel... :) Also need to find the extra key and fish out the broken key out of the tool box... :( (jim is coming over the studded snows tonight yet...) - the white '92 XJ sport might have the engine replaced by now... haven't talked to my friend yet... if that engine doesn't work out I may start looking at the idea of dropping the Mercedes 3.0L TD into it... need to sell it so I may keep it 4.0L... did look at that '81 240D... that engine would be good for the cj... :) but first I'm going to get my '99 WJ (4.7) Laredo finished up (almost there) and the Willys done... (start grad school in March... (what am I thinking??? this could seriously impact my jeep projects... :) - still haven't gone XJ shopping to replace the wife's '99 WJ (4.0L)laredo I need to clean the throttle body on that one... - still not missing my '91 300D... do miss the 30mpg though.. :) - hoping that superdawg will be done soon... that way I may not need to get another xj... :) john ---- http://wagoneers.com/johns-vehicles.html - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://JohnMeister.com **** http://wagoneers.com ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold ** http://freegift.net *** http://greatcom.org/laws/languages.html ** - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #2571 **************************
