It lost in a few areas, but won overall. I'm happy, otherwise I would have had to move all the stuff to the other wj... now, just need to get the white 4.0 in autotrader... seattle is at the end of a big windstorm, cable internet is out. acessing email from treo 650 using pssh client (thanx chuck) in bash shell using pine and vi. :) cleaned up the carport a bit today. need to figure out which mb filters go w/ my 124, any p/n sources on line? Have a bunch of small FSJ parts like door handles and armrests. Also XJ wiring harness, dash part. Still need to part the 87. later, john ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://JohnMeister.com **** http://wagoneers.com ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold ** http://freegift.net *** http://greatcom.org/laws/languages.html ** - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 5 Feb 2006 21:50:04 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: fsj: strange traffic in seattle... decided to drive into Snohomish for a quick meal around 7pm or so... man, oh man... there were headlights stringing across the snohomish valley for about 4 miles... and taillights heading the other way to match... worse than the normal morning or afternoon rush hour because it's usually only one way... this was twice as much... it was hysterical... you'd think some big sports event had just ended or something... ;) john ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://JohnMeister.com **** http://wagoneers.com ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold ** http://freegift.net *** http://greatcom.org/laws/languages.html ** - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 6 Feb 2006 12:28:33 -0500 From: "Watry, Andrew \(LNG-SFR\)" Subject: fsj: "nose" piece for 67 Wagoneer sought The "nose" finishing piece across the center front of the hod, above the grille, which hides the hood release crossover bar, on my 67 Wagoneer is broken. It's basically a potmetal strip an inch or two high and the width of the upright grille opening shape in the hood. It's held on the back by a couple studs. I can take a pic and email if this is confusing. Anyone got one to sell? Trying to sell the '99 WJ laredo with the 4.0L. Asking $9,500, figure it's a little bit high for the market, buy less than $1k over what it should bring... leaving room for negotiating... looking at Kelley Blue book, prices range from: "retail" - $10,720 (excellent condition) "private party" - excellent - $8,675 "private party" - good - $8,040 "private party" - fair - $7,225 The WJ is in excellent condition, mileage is at 81k, "normal" is 78k. No defects or problems... it's in superb condition... So the question is, what is reality for the price of that WJ? - ----------------------------------------------------------- Of course I didn't look at NADA or Edmunds, the latter is not necessarily much of a guide. Have a friend with a '91 Grand Wagoneer facing the same kinds of issues, looked at it Sunday, it's got 161k and all four corners have minor body damage, not as pristine as I first thought... needs a lot of minor stuff... no way is the "book" going to help price that thing... would make a great 6.2 Diesel conversion rig... ;) Same question with my '92 xj sport... once it gets a good engine any ideas what it should bring? It's super clean... - ----------------------------------------------------------- My 300D seems to be riding well above the book value, amazing how folks seeing it in the ad for the willys want to know if I want to sell it. rofl... wish I had as many 124's sitting around as I do WJs. ;) Had one joker try to low ball me on the WJ this morning, the abrasive rascal even emailed in all caps. If you're going to try to get a bargain the least you can do is admit you're looking for one and making an offer in a polite manner. Doesn't hurt to ask, and as a seller it's nice to know you could dump it in a pinch if needed. Of course I'd rather give it away or part it out than sell it to someone like that. :) john ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://JohnMeister.com **** http://wagoneers.com ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold ** http://freegift.net *** http://greatcom.org/laws/languages.html ** - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 6 Feb 2006 21:48:18 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: fsj: 1999 model year mpg in researching which wj to keep I went to epa.gov and got the data for the '99 model year... selected 4x4s, diesels, jeeps and a handful of pathetic little cars so I could gloat on the great mileage my mercedes diesel gets in comparison... pdf at: http://wagoneers.com/MISC/99models-mpg.pdf free pdf created compliments of openoffice.org (in windows even) john ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://JohnMeister.com **** http://wagoneers.com ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold ** http://freegift.net *** http://greatcom.org/laws/languages.html ** - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #2582 **************************
