I'm trying to remember and can't be 100%... but MAYBE you want to make sure you get the bracket and the short piece of linkage that is on top of the xfer case for the 219... that little linkage piece might have different sized holes in it from the 229 one. I'll have to go out and look at what I've got out there and can't right away. But that would be the only thing to worry with and I'm not sure at this point that it IS a worry. If you want my advice (can be debatable ) but I've swapped 219, 228, 229 in and out of my '88 several times, always by myself. What I do is to put a brace under the xfer case, then drop the crossmember and ebrake cable assy. Then I put a brace up under the transmission so that I can move the jack back to the xfer case, then I let the whole shebang drop about 2-3". THAT opens up the access to the top nuts on the tranny/xfer case junction. Drop the jack, drop the xfer case and reverse the process. It'll add 30 minutes or so, but removes LOTS of aggrivation of not being able to get at those top nuts. Especially if your arms are thick from being bundled up for weather. Didn't ever have to do this with it THAT cold outside but a couple of times in a windchill about that cold. It ain't no fun. I'd do something like John/Jim suggested with trying to setup a good windbreak and maybe someone would loan you a salamader heater to blow some warm air around you while you work. I use mine regularly working out in the cold, although if it's windy, nothing helps. Frostbite is no joke, but since you're in WI I'm sure that you know about those dangers. Checkin' your photo and you should love the 4x4 Hi-Lock mode in the 219 on that ice. I really liked the 219 and would still be using it if I hadn't toasted the coupler when the rear shaft was out of it... But you shouldn't have to buy anything to do this swap.
