I ended up with an FSJ starter from I think a 68 Wagoneer. It has no built-in solenoid, just a large lug for the bat cable, and a small lug from I guess the ignition or solenoid. Is it possible to ID it without posting a photo? It's not the same as on my Buick V8, so I'm guessing it's for a Kaiser 327? Thought I would offer it up here just in case anyone was interested. Here are the specs - 1985 Grand Wag, 360 V8, auto, all the usuall options. Fair condition for a rig over 20 years old with 184K miles. No rust. Fairly straight body with some small dings. New in the last year: 4 row radiator, water pump, heavy duty fan clutch, rebuilt carb, and the coolest headliner you have ever seen (I recovered it myself with camo material). It comes with a cool FSJ sticker in the window and I will even throw in a 1982 TSM. All the usual FSJ problems (except rust). Asking $900. Located near Portland Oregon. Send me email if you would like more info or pics. Thanks, - -brad Tired of spam? Yahoo! I really like my WJ and use it like an FSJ but miss the wonderful "panascopic" vision of the SJ model. The XJ's had a reasonable amount of visibility and really had the nimbleness that the SJ's lacked, but didn't quite fill the niche of the SJ. The KJ is a butt ugly "cute" ute that departs from most jeep traditions, unless you consider round headlights essential. The WK is more of a pacifica than a jeep, and with the independent front suspension like the KJ it too has left the Jeep world. That leaves the TJ. Now 10 years ago I wouldn't have considered a "bobtail". But that 2.8L CRD is a superb engine, and TJ's still have solid axles... :) I'm not afraid of first year models, the WJ had very few issues in '99, but it seems like later models did... weird. Yeah, I'm kind of excited about my '48 CJ-2a... the thing is a kick to drive, to look at and I can hardly wait until I get it all together and drive it around. Starting grad school this weekend, the wife has some serious landscaping plans, lots to do at work, income taxes, episodes of stargate to keep up on... ;) there just isn't enough time to do it all. The CJ needs the T-90 swapped out, a tire fixed and a few other minor things... really need to get the top on it and the tow bar mounted... all that to get insurance. The original pictures didn't impress the insurance company, so now that it's assembled and painted it might have enough value to get the insurance so I can take it on road. And you're right, if I take that thing to a trail it'll be behind my J10 or my WJ... unless the trail is within 5 miles of the house. I'm not excited about heading out into the Seattle area traffic with a top speed of 45mph and no seat belts... of course if I go in rush hour it won't be a problem, top speed is about 20 mph. ;) john On Tue, 28 Feb 2006, David Jones wrote: >-->The rumor mill has it that DC will put a CRD in the TJ >-->(or what ever its letters are) in 2008.
