I'm actually entertaining ideas of vehicle sales and purchases... put primer on the '47 cj-2a after dinner... ordered parts to finish the '48 cj-2a and may very well sell the '91 300d before the '91 grand wagoneer gets completed with the 6.2L WVO burning Diesel. :) If the benz does find a new home I've already located two 2000 Jeeps! one xj and one wj... not crazy about the colors of either, but they're jeeps... :) ah yes, a nice little break from reality... jeep dreaming at lunch time... :) giving up 26 to 30mpg on Diesel for 16 to 17 mpg on Gas isn't as painful as it used to be... 10 mile commute, works out to somewhere between $4 and $10 per week... depending on the price spread of the fuels... my '87 xj got 17mpg in town with 31's... I kind of regret selling it to my son who had way too much fun in arizona with it... oh well... he did bring home the '48 cj-2a with it... :) the pinto engine is out of the '48 cj-2a and the engine compartment is prepped for cleanup and paint... going to look great... the flathead will go in next week along with a new clutch, rebuilt t-90 and a spicer 18 with a PTO setup.. :) gonna love hearing that 6.48:1 compression ratio engine come to life... something wonderful about driving that little rig... wife even fell in love with it with just one quick drive around the yard/driveway... On the other hand, shadowfax has been the best car I've ever owned... hard to part with something that just works... nice looking, reliable, economical, if only they'd kept Rube Goldberg out of the climate control system and had considered actually making comfortable seats... :) but the thought of driving a late model xj or wj daily is way more appealing to me... :) I'll actually be able to see the mountains on one stretch of road... drive it every day with the Benz, didn't notice the view until I drove the wife's WJ the other night... not to mention being able to see over traffic, way safer around here... things happen, and often... visibility is critical with all the traffic we have. (If it ain't Chev, make it so!) my understanding was that MB was buying chryco AT.... or whoever AT because of royalty fees.... and it was until later.... like past 1980ish that they did their own..... LR ran whoever engine: buick i think....
