Include the word help in a message to fsj-digest-request to get a list of other majordomo commands. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Wed, 9 May 2007 07:00:13 -0400 From: "Neal Hoover" Subject: fsj: j-truck dome/bed lamp question for those of you j-truck owners who have a bed lamp.... can you tell me how (or when, really) that the bed lamp functions? i know there's a manual switch on the B-pillar behind the driver's door, but is it enabled to work *whenever* the switch is thrown? i started yanking that wiring out of my old cab last night to put into the rig i'm building, and by looking at the wiring, i can't see how the bed lamp will be able to operate without the interior dome lamp being on first. i want the bed lamp to operate completely independently from the dome lamp and also be able to be turned on without the ignition key being on. i'm guessing i'll have to abandon the old wiring and run a new "unswitched" power lead to the cargo lamp switch to get it to work that way. if someone can tell me how it operated in stock form, i'd appreciate it. thanks! oh - also, does the dome lamp only come on when the headlight switch is turned to the left or does it also come on with the floor lamps when the door switches are activated? (can you tell i started this build years ago with never having the original truck on the road? ;) Neal A.
