Well, your encouraging words sent me to the scales... 5,255 lbs minus the passengers weight. That's with both fuel tanks full (40+ gallons), dual batteries, brush guard, factory moon roof and trailer hitch. If we subtract the extra fuel and the extra 35 lb battery this thing weighs less than my '81 Wagoneer! It weighed 5,200 lbs. I guess 16 mpg is acceptable, that's better than my wj by 2 mpg, about the same as an xj... and of course way, way better than any Wagoneer I've had... with hope of bettee mileage with some careful driving and tuning. The ride is a little harsher than prior SJ's but ok... noise level is higher, but I'm working on it... :) The first tank also included hauling 2 heavy barrels of wvo up to Chuck's. We are over in Seattle right now. My son called to tell me that my Jeep wasn't smoking any more on departure. On the way down here my wife said we need to get rid of one of my vehicles... She realizes how much I'm liking ny GW... the problem is I still like my 300d. And I like her wj. :) But with the expense of my daughter's probable and soon wedding we'll need the money... oh how wonderful to have such problems... :) thanx again all for the encouraging words.
