I was chasing down BioDiesel and WVO last night... never enough time, never enough money... but it still cost less than a new vehicle... Also noticed that the jeep does NOT shut off... suspect the fuel solenoid on the IP... Mercedes uses a vacuum shut off that can fail, GM uses a 12v solenoid... I can pull the plug on it and it keeps on keeping on... but then will die if I stand on the brakes (hydraboost)... I never had problems like this with a Mercedes Diesel... nor my Olds or GMC Diesels... I just need to go through all this plumbing and shorten it up... noticed that the return lines go from the Lift Pump on the left front of the engine, to the pass side frame, up under the radiator, then around the driver's side of the frame and back to the tank... wondering if I couldn't just run a line under the engine and then over to the frame... anyone know how blazers/jimmys and suburbans do it? Any recommendations on the best fuel line to use with BioDiesel? :) john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://wagoneers.com john's 6.2L GW: http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/Omega/ SAVE FUEL use AMSOIL Synthetics: http://wagoneers.com/AMSOIL - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 Jul 2008 06:47:50 -0700 From: Jim Blair Subject: RE: [db] Re: fsj: pair of Cummins 6AT diesels $1700 near Seattle (not mine!) A full size Jeep could handle them. 4BT is more common for swaps. Numbers don't look right for the turbo version though? I hear closer to 300 ftlbs of torque and better economy than the GM engine. The rubber fuel line purchased at schucks and other local stores to do this has held up fairly well, but not well enough it seems... works out ok, need to rework the lines and may fab up heated lines and shorten them all at the same time... looks like I'll need to break out my plumbing tools. ;) thanx JB, and paul!
