On Omega I've reached the design limit on wind noise... can't go much further with chassis/engine vibration... it's tolerable, but the blazer doesn't have those issues... it's a cool truck in it's own right.... pulled in to the wrecking yard to get my old cloth seats back for the wj and the guy at the desk wanted to buy the blazer... that Diesel setup is cool... and at idle it's as quiet as shadowfax. :) there are a few things not to lke about the blazer, but there are more to like. the blazer and the benz gives us the setup I was seeking for a 2car fleet. the blazer has to be good for us to give up that beautiful wj... but we know that gas stinks. :) john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://wagoneers.com john's 6.2L GW: http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/Omega/ SAVE FUEL use AMSOIL Synthetics: http://wagoneers.com/AMSOIL - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Sat, 2 Aug 2008, jasonbassett-at-juno.com wrote: # TRAITOR! The a/c works perfectly. The seats # will be replaced with the WJ leather heated seats... heading over to # the wrecking yard to buy my cloth seats out of the WJ back to replace them. # # Will put the stock SJ leather seats back in Omega. Trying to decide if # I'm going to take the IPF 800 series driving lights... a few folks have # commented about all the lights on the front of the Grand Wagoneer... ;) # # Looks like my goal of going to two vehicles is going to happen. The Blazer # does what the Grand Cherokee does but on Diesel. Going to get the veggie # oil conversion setup for the Blazer. Will run the Benz on BioDiesel. I # suspect I'll drive my Benz to work to save fuel. My wife shouldn't have # any trouble driving the Blazer if she needs to go shopping. The Blazer # will be much easier to transport stuff... love the tailgate setup. Fantastic # mirrors and visibility. # # It was clear within five minutes on the freeway that Omega was history... # within # a few more minutes it became clear that the Grand Cherokee was also # departing. # # My wife started to go negative... noted how much larger the Blazer is than # the Grand Cherokee... but it's not that much bigger and only 0.8 inches # wider than my Grand Wagoneer... so I think we can overcome that issue. ;) # The # Blazer does not feel large, not like my '83 Jimmy... that thing felt like a # barge. # # The Blazer has had a few upgrades... Smittybuilt Nerf bars, rain shields # on the windows, CD changer, the engine has been "chipped", the # turbo enhanced, the PMD module relocated (this is the issue with the 6.5L # TDs, # the computer module sat on the intake manifold, expecting the coolant to # keep the chip cool... never worked as designed, so by relocating the module # to in front of the radiator one solves the problem completely.) # # I have the original owners manual, looks like I'm the 3rd owner. The # previous # owner bought it about 3 or 4 years ago and then upgraded the engine. The # original owner had the boost gauge and cd changer installed. Looking for # the original window sticker, have all the other info in the glovebox... ;) # # so, there you have it... # # It was a beautiful day... dirty windshield... soon as we got on I-90 heading # west # we figured we'd have a lot of fun driving into the sunset... but the rain on # our # side of the mountains solved that problem... was surprised to see sun this # morning. :) # # next on the agenda... emissions test... brake repair, recovery of original # seats for the WJ and then get the Jeeps prepped for sale. # # The WJ will be up for $6500. It's a superb Jeep... nothing wrong with it... # Omega is up initially at $7500, have about $14k invested... have one offer # standing right now for $5500. # # Trying to decide if I'm going to sell Superdawg ('83 J10 stepside that has # been in large pieces since 2001) as is, or put a driveline in it and sell it # that way... no reason to have it with two trailers... although I may sell # the '47 Bantam trailer... the Blazer won't mind a 2,000lb trailer... stock it # came with about 180hp and 340ft lbs of torque, and it's been chipped... it's # pretty impressive how much throttle response it has... I don't think it's # as fast as my '91 300D, but it's certainly very acceptable. :) # # john # # '94 Blazer 6.5L TD # '91 300D 2.5L TD # # zu verkaufen: '99 WJ 4.7L V8, '91 GW 6.2L V8, '83 J10 no engine # ----- # ------------------------------------------------------------------------- # Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold # http://wagoneers.com john's 6.2L GW: http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/Omega/ # SAVE FUEL use AMSOIL Synthetics: http://wagoneers.com/AMSOIL # ------------------------------------------------------------------------- # # # On Fri, 1 Aug 2008, Andreas Kreft wrote: # # # Am Freedag 01 August 2008, hest Du schrieven: # # # # > just got back from Tri-Cities... # # > # # > picked up a '94 Chevy Blazer with a 6.5L TD... very nice... thought # # > it was green from the pictures, but it's dark blue... needs some TLC, # # > mostly cleaning... ran out very nicely... # # # # C'mon, don't tantalize us! :-) # # # # Where are the pictures?
