I almost bought a $500 wag last year... for the body... but it was before going away, storage ..... and trying not to be a wagoneer anonymous. In the bay area... you can find a few for $800 w trany or engine issues..... they are $1500 one week, then the next it is lower... and lower... to make me an offer.... As for travel... trucking it, would be the most cost effective way. It was $800 for a small grey convertible (not mine.... I did say earlier that i do not need a red one!)..... from upstate NY to SF, 3 years ago. This is how i ended w the 85 Gwag at $250.... nice body.... but it has not resisted the fog of our area... rust is pushing the paint by the rear quarter window, and the weld of the jack area.... were so poorly done that while doing some cleaning i noticed the light from below..... roof patching compound should help when the next rainy season starts in November.
