I have a fitting that comes off the intake that's where i have my pcv and one "service air" port. The service air then has a T that one goes to tranny kickdown the other goes to the vacuum ball. So if the Emerancey drive is only line off the vacuum ball I guess i should add another splitter to run the heater vents? Oh when i have air to the EMergancey drive when i turn the knob i get a 1 second hiss... i tried driving a few feet to see if i feel any difference or if an "Emergancy Drive" light comes on and i didnt see anything? Or do i need to be in the Low range? Earlier model of 74 has plain rubber line that snake around the speedo cable.... and over the TC to the passenger side. Later model like 78 has a metal line that goes does the trany tunnel, so it does not cook on the exhaust....The vacuum switch for the emergency control may be toast... it will have a "hiss" in one or all position, I am using a syringe stopcock ..... Don't laugh, this is a free 3 way switch.... The only catch: it is so tight, that i have to disconnect the un-used line to release the vacuum. The OEM leaking a bit, the vacuum leaks and allow for the bellow to pull the rod. When the actuator rod moves... it will bounce on a roller ball, that close the circuit... and if your light bulb is good.... There is a 2 way vacuum motor (it really looks like a vacuum advance off a dist that has push and pull capability) There is one line to the switch and 2 going out to the shift motor. When the switch is turned, vacuum goes from one of the hoses to the other. The hiss you hear is the vacuum escaping back through the switch from the other line. If the hiss keeps going longer than a couple seconds then the vacuum motor is shot. I tighten them in snug with a screwdriver socket (with a wrench on the locking nut to keep it from bottoming) and back off 2 1/2 turns. Don't forget the other band adjustment is up on the side of the case.
