I'm thinking that that driveline would be about the same length as a 4.0/AW4/np2xx or a 360/TF727/NP2xx... or maybe even a 4.7/45rf/np2xx - found a '97 XJ and a '99 WJ with blown engines, around 2k. the XJ would be my first choice weight and computer wise... the WJ would be a challenge because of the computers. The Wj will weigh more too, probably around 3900lbs, vs 3400lbs xj. I'm pretty sure I could sell the CJ-10A with no engine and cover most of the costs... just thinking... might work, and might not take a lot of work... would get me into a smaller 4x4 Diesel without breaking the budget, just a few knuckles. :) not looking for a project right now but if it's a straight swap into a nice chassis it's not unrealistic. I guess the question is length and of course whether an 80hp naturally aspirated fork lift motor propel an XJ at acceptable limits. if the price is right on the XJ it might be worth a shot... :) john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://johnmeister.com/fotomeister - Trust Jesus: http://freegift.com SAVE power, avoid viruses, use LINUX: http://johnmeister.com/tmcp.pdf SAVE fuel, use synthetics: http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #3251 **************************
