I couldn't run down the road with that thing hanging off the hitch, it would crack and break.... I could stand on the barrel lift though, so it should work and is about the correct height. Will use a pair of FSJ hood supports like I did on my trailer, that's just enough support to hold things in place. http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/rigs/1986-CJ10A/2009_Apr_05_tug-w-barrel-lift/ put some bedliner on the bed and more rattle can white on the box... john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://creationwiki.org http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 6 Apr 2009 09:33:31 -0700 (PDT) From: diesel john Subject: Re: fsj: tailgate setup On Mon, 6 Apr 2009, Dan Black wrote: # diesel john said: # {- finally got it installed: # {- http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/rigs/1986-CJ10A/2009_Apr_04-tailgate/ALL.html # # Cool. # # For some reason, seeing the first pics, it didn't occur to me that you'd # paint it at the end. So when I'm moving barrels from the lift to the bed it won't be there... found a GW hitch this morning for $35. the c-channel setup I have flexes too much... this will bolt right to the frame. I may flip the bolt on receiver hitch up and use it for an extra 2" receiver to hold a bike rack without removing the hitch... :) options, ya gotta love 'em. Tom, In all fairness to a Scout fan, do you see any (usable) parts on this Terra that you might be interested in? you're only 16 hrs away from me... ;) http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/rigs/1986-CJ10A/AXLES_ENGINE_INFO/SD33T-info/Terra-Donor/ALL.html The guy doesn't have the time to get it running, and I have no need for wimpy 5 lug scout axles when I already have six lug D44 GW axles. ;) I am mildly interested in his T19 if it'll mate up to a jeep xfr case, but since have a T18 I should be able to make it work... I'm thinking I'll just buy the engine/trans and call it good... no need to drag that much scrap metal all the way over the mountains. john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://creationwiki.org http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Sun, 5 Apr 2009, Tom H wrote: # diesel john wrote: # # I've got a 1986 CJ-10A with the factory installed Nissan SD33 non-turbo... # (link to current pictures below) # # I found a used SD33T out of an '80 Scout... # # Question is could I take the turbo setup off of the SD33T and put it on my SD33? # # John: # # As a Scout enthusiast and a Terra owner, I've got to say a few things: # # No, the SD33T and naturally aspirated SD33 were different enough that the # turbo swap might result in issues down the road.
