I had no real issues with the 6.2/6.5 other than fuel lines... and if I got overzealous with my blending. :) issues: 1) the veggie oil blended will have minimal impact on rubber lines and seals, but could... it messed with a few o-rings on my benz. veggie oil run straight needs to be heated to about 160 deg F. 2) if you run biodiesel you absolutely WILL have trouble with rubber lines, return lines (on injectors) and any seals that are rubber. Easy fix: get the Viton kit from Heath Diesel or buy Viton tubing (not cheap) from one of the grease car type outfits, can't remember the name of them, just search on Viton. Replace the line going to the lift pump NOW. This one gave me absolute fits on omega. My 6.5 had been converted by the PO and had steel lines going into and out of the lift pump so it only needed the return lines replaced on the injectors, $34 kit or so. 3) if you blend, keep it at no more than 25% mix... if you go over you will have issues starting and could damage your engine because it may not spray well in the cylinder and could lead to damage. 4) progressive filtering is recommended, start at high micron count and work down to at least 10 to 20 microns before going into the stock filtering system... a clear bowl with water trap is recommended. (I need to add a racor setup on my tug so I can see what's going on, or in. ;) of course, as always, make sure french fries and onion rings do not enter the tank at any time... :) both WVO and BioDiesel have a wonderful aroma... I found a Pollack fuel valve on ebay for $55. A friend is parting a Suburban and I may attempt to install a 2nd tank in the tug that will hold 40 gals... :) may attempt to heat it and use it for WVO... we'll see... depending how much time I have for engineering fun this summer. john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://creationwiki.org http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Wed, 15 Apr 2009, Kevin wrote: # Had a question or two for you since you ran your blazers on waste oil. # Did you have any problem with the injector pump or with engine (crankcase) oil # getting contaminated running vegetable oil in a 6.2 or a 6.5?
