I don't think the scout mount for the SD33 are the same as Jeep... will need them pretty soon, I hope... I might need the transmount and may require the trailshaft from the 727 mate to my NP208, if I got with the automati... at this point I'm leaning toward the T19 with parts from my T18 to make it all work. The Scout T-19 is a better solution because it has a synchronized granny low and should hold up to the SD33T just fine. I would like to use the T-5 so I have overdrive, but I think the T-19 is the better solution overall... I thought about using the TF727 in the '83 J10 Stepside, but this thing won't have gobs of extra power, keeping it manual will improve my mileage, give me more options and should make it more fun to drive... :) My plan is to retain the Jeep A/C, so a manual will compensate for my comfort. ;) So, my shopping list is mainly the SD33 mounts to the Jeep CJ-10a. anything else I'll need to make the SD33T fit in a J10? Also, it looks like I will have a few SD33/SD33T accessories left over, maybe a complete engine... hard to say... so far this is what I'm getting: http://wagoneers.com/tmp/IH-parts1.jpg http://wagoneers.com/tmp/IH-parts2.jpg (not shown are the SD33T still in the terra, the tf727 and the T19) There is still, I think, that other SD33T at olympic that I could buy for $250, but the yard wrench said it was pumping out white smoke, the turbo is seized and the water pump is frozen up... I think the parts from ID may cover some of the requests... not sure I really want another block of steel in the yard... still have the tug's ballast sitting here. :) I'm pretty sure my wife will make me sell the tug when my J10 comes home... so it's up for sale at this point... Curtis, hurry up and get my j10 reassembled... I'm having FSJ withdrawls up here... :) I'm having the SD33T that is complete strapped to a pallet, will test it out in my shop on the ground, if it works I may just bring it down with the T19 and assemble it there and let you drop it in Superdawg right away... unless you've got the 4.2 installed, because I plan to keep that in running order just in case the SD33T tanks or is so gutless I can't stand it... at this point the 4.2 will probably be a running yard ornament for some future project... I hope. :) john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://creationwiki.org http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Mon, 15 Jun 2009, diesel john wrote: # # ever had one of those Diesel dilemas? :) # # life is good... no problems there... biggest problem right now is too # many options, and they all have limitations... # # # the current plan (subject to change without notice) is to head over # to Idaho on Thursday to pick up a couple SD33Ts, a 727 and a T19 with # all the adapters and accessories... not sure if I'll put the SD33T # in the tug as an intermediate step or go straight into the '83 J10 stepside # and use the T-5 or the T-19. # # however, ran across a very clean '88 K15 GMC Jimmy with a 6.2: # http://wagoneers.com/tmp/jimmy/ALL.html # # so, do I stick with the '86 cj-10a and install a Turbo, or # do I put the turbo Diesel in my '83 J10 stepside, or do I ditch # both and go back to a 6.2L Diesel in a GMC Jimmy??? # # # thankfully counselors were available and I'm staying the course with the J10... :) # # every now and then I need a reality check... thanx dave. :) # # john # # # # ----- # ------------------------------------------------------------------------ # Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold # http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://creationwiki.org # http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us # ------------------------------------------------------------------------ # # ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 Jun 2009 21:56:37 -0700 (PDT) From: john Subject: FOUND the J20!!! I don't think I'll do another 6.5 though, the best I got in my K blazer was right at 20 on the freeway, and worse than the 6.2 in town. also, no plans to do another 6.2 in my J10, the SD33T is the plan at this point, preferably with the manual trans to get that last 10% of oomph out of it. ;) manual trans in an FSJ doesn't seem to bother my back, but an XJ/MJ will have me at the chiropractor's office... If I go with another larger Diesel in an FSJ I will look again at the 6.2s, they're affordable, durable, easy to work on and aren't as loud as the Cummins.
