However, did have a chance to check on a 999 for the 4.2. NONE. Ended up with a great deal on a good TF727. So my plan is to get the good TF727, and take the scout cased one I have with the RV housing to the trans shop and have it recased, shift kitted and that way it'll bolt right up to the SD33T adapter and the NP208. QUESTION: Will a torque converter from an AMC 360 work ok with the SD33T??? If not, does anyone have one between here and Northern California? or know of part numbers? (I still need that piece for the SD33 flex plate setup... :) The SD33T in Oregon is still in the Scout... a minor delay, the guy's waiting for space in his buddy's shop. :) (amazing how all these projects interconnect isn't it?) The T19/D300 I have will have a new home in CA, hoping to run it down into Oregon first weekend of September, provided the fire season isn't too bad... Depending on how far in CA, who knows, may just be able to get a double-double! :) Will use the WJ to carry it down... while in Oregon if the SD33T hasn't been pulled, will test drive it to confirm it's ok. Curtis is taking a break from superdawg to get his Corsa out of the rafters in his shop before starting to paint Superdawg. He's going to get it running for a local cruise-in down in Centralia. He's had it up on his lift for three years. Nice rust free Corvair Corsa... I don't know if I have pictures of it, might be visible in some of the superdawg shots. So, the delays caused by heat and parts in the wrong places is working out quite well... I'm NOT going to tear the little tug apart, no need now, will have time to get the GOOD parts in place. And this works out technically to TWO less swaps... yay! no swapping of the 4.2 into the tug and no swapping of the SD33 to the SD33T later. :) So, this weekend starts the wedding preparations and celebrations... bachelor stuff and wedding rehearsals, sister-in-law flies in on Tuesday, Wednesday the flowers arrive and arrangements start... not sure how the flower situation is going to work with my allergies... thinking about renting an RV for a few days... :) after the wedding we'll be doing the tourist thing with my wife's sister... then the projects resume... :) Looking at September 5th as an opportunity to transport the T19/D300 down towards CA... :) Just got to make through the next two weeks... pray for strength, wisdom and a winning lottery ticket... ;) john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://creationwiki.org http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Aug 2009 21:31:55 -0700 From: Jim Blair Subject: RE: fsj: weddings, Diesels and transmissions Torque converter is not the same gas to diesel.
