Really tempted to get one for my Stepside, but I have to sell my other rigs first so I have the $$ to do it. > Date: Wed, 14 Oct 2009 16:24:15 -0700 > From: greg-at-high-impact.net > Subject: PRESS RELEASE Brand New NV4500 5 speed 1T truck trannies and conversion packages available > To: carnuck-at-hotmail.com > > Brand New NV4500 5 speed 1T truck trannies and conversion packages available > > We are still able to supply Brand New NV4500 transmissions. NV4500s are generally recognized as the best 5speed transmission ever supplied in a light truck. They have become popular conversions in older or light duty pickups wanting to upgrade. They are also popular conversions where going from auto trans to stick is desired. > > They are available both in GM. Dodge standard duty, and Dodge Heavy Duty (Diesel and V10 apps). 2WD or 4WD. All have the late style parts, with the correct upgrades as needed for 5th gear retention. > > A Brand New, dyno tested NV4500 is $2117, complete. No core charge. Figure $125 freight, continental US. > > We can also supply custom configured NV4500s, for example: GM in front, Dodge in rear, or Dodge HD in front, GM 4wd in rear. Same price as above. We can still supply NV4500s with the GM 6.34 ratio 1st gear ($100 extra). We can overbuild NV4500s for 600+ HP Cummins apps. > > We can supply conversion packages to install an NV4500 in Dodges, Fords, GM, Jeeps, Land Cruisers. Diesel or Gas. Packages can include clutches (we carry SouthBend, Luk, AMS, etc) Bellhousings, flywheels, precharged complete master-slave setups, as needed. We have adapters to use NV4500s to replace Ford 4speeds, mate up to Ford transfer cases, mate up to GM NV4500, mate up to Toyota transfer cases, all sorts of stuff. Another way to decrease the rear brake power is to swap to wheel cylinders that are smaller. With manual brakes people can increase their braking power by finding larger ones to fit. I found some to put in BMax's '63 Scout all around, but he decided to go with different axles for strength (from an FSJ) From: diesel john Subject: fsj: Re: brakes - balance wow, I like this one... looks easy to install... I like their explanation too... sure would be nice not to have that back end locking up... I have to really pay attention to what's going on... this thing will get sideways post haste... with the number of turns lock to lock it'll be quite a handful in a serious oversteer event... would prefer not to have this kind of excitement in my life... so it's either add one of these or get a quicker turn ratio steering box. :) john 63020 - JEGS Adjustable Proportioning Valve A necessary part of any performance braking system! This proportioning valve features a rotary knob with a knurled grip to allow for the finest incremental adjustment of front to rear brake bias. This further enhances the effectiveness of the entire system to prevent that dreaded rear brake lock-up by reducing line pressure up to 60%. Includes 2 adapter fittings for use with 3/16'' brake lines. Finished in a durable black anodized finish with the JEGS logo laser etched on both sides for up or down knob placement. _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail: Trusted email with powerful SPAM protection. http://clk.atdmt.com/GBL/go/177141665/direct/01/ ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Oct 2009 07:41:21 -0700 (PDT) From: john Subject: RE: fsj: Re: brakes - balance it may have one... it's got a GW frame...
