I bought the jeep with a 327 V8 but no transmission or transfercase. Their is also a 1961 FC 170 for Parts but make offer as it belongs to my Dad. I do have a pinkslip and it has a clean title. Thanks Josh 714 499 4706 The jeep is in Watsonville at my Dads but I live in Southern California so dont have space to work on it. Note. the FC 170 pictured in the lower left hand corner has no title and is parts only, engine, transmission are good and that cab has no rust in the lower body. The 74 wag received a parking ticket for as a toyota once... dismissed ..... It had been badgless after the paint job 25 years ago, but at least the tailgate has the "jeep" license plate lite, the "wagoneer" one started to peel. Looking at the FC170 is tempting, one neat way to carry the bikes, or may be, add a rear enclosed cab, this make for an incredible approach and departing angle. I used AMSOIL MP, it penetrates and lubricates well... far better than WD-40... haven't compared it to PB Blaster, it's in the same league and smells much better... I haven't used liquid wrench for years... :) used to come in the same cans as 3-in-1 oil... :) Also, I've had good success with brake fluid as a penetrant.... I think that it depends on the amount of rust involved what will work the best. WD-40 is vegetable oil and not intended as a penetrant, and doesn't work well as a lubricant as it tends to gum things up. One note on Acetone... it evaporates quickly... trying to mix it with ATF would be interesting.. also, somewhere along the way today I stumbled upon this: http://www.rmauctions.com/CarDetails.cfm?SaleCode=DS10&CarID=r096 ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 si vis pacem, para bellum http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Thu, 8 Apr 2010, El PROFESOR 4X4 wrote: For all of you that are mechanically inclined..... Note the "home brew" was better than any commercial product in this one particular test. A local machinist group mixed up a batch and all now use it with equally good results. Note also that "Liquid Wrench" is about as good as "Kroil" for about 20% of the price. ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #3559 **************************
