I put amsoil gear lube in the 5 speed at the same time I put amsoil 5w40 in the new oil pan... been shifting around 2,200 rpm, sometimes start out in 2nd gear... the 11mm pump puts out a lot of torque... plan to take some more drives to test out the economy with the new pump/injectors. the plan is to head over Stevens Pass on Friday for schnitzels in Leavenworth, WA. the forecasted temperatures are around 16F over there, versus our 34F. SMASHED INTO TWO OF MY FSJ'S that were parked on the street in front of my house while I was away for Thanksgiving!! NO, they didn't leave a note on the windshield! I have an 83 Cherokee Laredo WT & a 79 J10. They side swiped the J10 SO HARD that it jumped the curb and blew the tire off the rim (A BIG TIRE, TOO!). By "pushing the J10 out of the way", they then proceeded to come to to a complete, dead stop as they PLOWED HEAD-ON INTO THE CHEROKEE parked behind it...forcing it, too, to jump the curb. I came home to BOTH jeeps half on the sidewalk with one of the tires blown off the rim. NOT A PRETTY SITE! Now, as you all know, these trucks WEIGH A LOT! Ramming into a PARKED FSJ, HEAD FIRST, would most like deploy one's airbag, wouldn't it??? I only wish I were home to get the ***wipes license plate. By piecing the remains of THEIR vehicle back together, I've determined that it was a SOLAR YELLOW NISSAN XTERRA (2000-2004). My insurance has decided to cover my CHEROKEE and actually valued it at $6,500 ! (AMICA) I was very pleased that they did NOT total it. I convinced them to send out a PRE-CRASH value and gave them all the receipts for everything I did to it. I was in the "process" of redoing the interior.... currently, it's ripped apart. My J10 is not being covered since I had dropped the collision (not currently driving it). I was informed that the hit and run is covered under uninsured motorists covered and not my comprehensive coverage. My J10 is not being covered since I had dropped the collision (not currently driving it). I was informed that the hit and run is covered under uninsured motorists covered and not my comprehensive coverage. KEEP THAT IN MIND! Anyway, it has taken me four weeks to recover from my shock, dismay, disgust and feelings of discouragement. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF BODY SHOP that LIKES & WANTS to work on these trucks? (portland/ sw washington area) I'm finding that no one wants the business!!! In this economy, I find that really surprising. I mean, I have a check from the insurance company in hand.....
