This car has been amazingly well cared for. They have every receipt for this vehicle, and the original window sticker. It is so quiet when it runs that my wife didn't realize it was running. I've always liked the idea of the Rav4s and I may go for an earlier model at some point in the future for me. The visibility is superb, much better than our WJ, quieter than the WJ, but I think the ride over bumps was better on the WJ, little more isolated from the road... I know from the experience of a friend that the transmission should not be abused by towing, but could. The seats are amazing... perfect fit for my back and just the right amount of softness, not very adjustable though. The engine bay is completely accessible, top and bottom, spark plugs/coils easy to get to... I will be able to make any repairs with no problems. Simple and even elegant in design... lots of plumbing, but some how easy to decipher. I doubt this car will need much in the way of repairs. I appreciate all the inputs, ideas, warnings, suggestions and encouragement... we paid just over high book, but considering we have the complete history and five extra tires mounted I am not complaining... I did talk the guy down $200 so my Bohemian upbringing is still in effect. john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 si vis pacem, para bellum tunc aperuit illis sensum ut intellegerent scripturas http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Subject: 2001 Toyota RAV4 L AWD, Leather, 116k miles We are the 2nd Owner of this RAV4. I don't expect it to do so... but if I can drive it in snow without getting stuck I'll be satisifed. the mileage as stated matches others experience. 23 mpg - 27 mpg is superb for any gas vehicle. that's in the Mercedes 300D 123 model range!!! it's almost in the range of my Turbo Diesel XJ, 26-32.
