The only ones I know of are up in the north end. I can't say that I'd give any of them a great recommendation, but they are better than the dealer. Olympic 4x4 in Snohomish is an expensive place to get jeeps repaired, but they are a reasonable source of parts and have been for over 25 years... they might know of shops in Seattle that they could recommend, the service guy there is a bit crotchety, fortunately I can't remember his name right now... the owner is pretty friendly... and they are still less expensive than the dealer and will do a better job. I had them do the conversion work on my '86 CJ-10A where they pulled the dana70 and dropped in my Dana 44s, got the brakes working etc... overall a nice job... As far as transmissions, Dave's Transmission Service in Lynnwood is an outstanding father/son location that I can highly recommend. For exhaust work, Airport Welding in Snohomish, WA. for other stuff... there's a few shops... all up in Everett/Snohomish... john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 si vis pacem, para bellum tunc aperuit illis sensum ut intellegerent scripturas http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Tue, 12 Apr 2011, FSJ-List-at-yahoogroups.com wrote: # The Original Full Size Jeep Mailing List (Jeep-Fullsize)(IFSJA FSJ-List) # Messages In This Digest (11 Messages) # # 1a. # Mechanic in Seattle From: susanoverton44-at-hotmail.com # 1b. # Re: Mechanic in Seattle From: hurstssamx69-at-yahoo.com # 1c. # Re: Mechanic in Seattle From: wcgardnerusm-at-yahoo.com # 1d. # MECHANIC IN SEATTLE # Posted by: "susanoverton44-at-hotmail.com" susanoverton44-at-hotmail.com sloverton # Mon Apr 11, 2011 7:20 pm (PDT) # # looking for a mechanic/shop in seattle that has experience (and also enjoys) working on Grand Wagoneers ('88). may need a little # engine work done. # thanks so much. # ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #3722 **************************
