It does clunk when it goes into gear and when it shifts. If I baby it when driving I can keep it from banging into gear. Sounds like the u-joints doesn't it? I have an extra drive shaft from my 83 Wagoneer so that should be compatible since they have the same trannie right? If they are I'll probable change the u-joints in that and then install it into my 81. What are your thoughts on this? Hope you feel better, fall colds really stink!!! =A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0= =A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0Joe - -------------------- Jim Blair, Seattle WA 1983 Cherokee 4 dr 4.2L six, 999 AT, Manual hubs Stop the Chemtrails!
