I have a '96 318 Magnum in the garage which needs a bottom end rebuild. I have a wiring harness and computer. I also have a line on a 401 that has never been rebuilt. So I'm looking for opinions. Here are the options: 1) Buy the 401 rebuild it and drop it in. 2) Rebuild the 318 and find a transmission to mount to it. I could probably pull a NV4500 with clutch directly from a Dodge. 3) Rebuild the 318 and put it back in my Grand Cherokee. Pull the built 360 in the Cherokee and put it into the Jeep with new tranny. 1 will definitely be the cheapest but I sure like the way the 3 sounds. If I build a custom FI for the 401, will it run like a late model motor? Greg, If you're going to be in Detroit, look me up. I live just north of the Detroit border. Maybe we can get together for dinner or a coffeee or brew or something. Give me a call at (248) 545-1866 when you get there. I hope you're not too dissapointed when Michigan gives Northwestern a sound beating ;-) Ray On Tue, 12 Oct 1999 09:01:41 -0700 (PDT) Greg Loxtercamp writes: >Currently, I have plans to be in Detroit (going to watch a Michigan vs >Northwestern football game) that weekend, but my wife may be in India >on a business trip, so I actually may be in town...don't know yet. >I'd >love to have you stop in Portland so I could check it out. She leaves 11/3 and will be gone for a couple of weeks. So, the trip to Detroit is put on hold...for the time being. We really looked forward to going there. I have never been to a Michigan game and wanted to experience my and 120,000 other fans having a good time. BTW, I would be rooting for Michigan, unless the Gophers were to be playing... My roots are in MN! I'll let you know when we decide to go...
