You get the loose stuff off, then paint on this compound (comes in black, silver or clear, I think) and it converts any remaining rust and seals the surface. I wouldn't use a rubberized paint because if any water manages to get through it or under it, it'll just stay there and rot your floor pan even faster. He knew about the frame rot too, and JB welded patches over them (I found the front mount when using a pick on the frame) The gas tank sending unit was taken apart and dropped inside the tank, along with a screw driver and some gravel, and PLASTIC line was used to replace the gas line at the sending unit. (looked like a balloon! I don't know what kept the gas in, unless it was a gravel lining!) The gas sock was collapsed from MTBE, and still stuffed back in, plus the gas cap was left off. The driveshaft bolts were less than finger tight, and only 3 nuts held the transfercase on and a solid steel trans mount was put in, with a piece of inner tube, and the bolts weren't tight on that either! The wiring was butchered to a hot wire contact, so nothing else worked when I got it (ammeter was near blown from corrosion, and probably the ignition box was fried from constant 12V) Ebrake was wired up so it wouldn't be able to be depressed. No dashlights or tail lights (cut to hook up a cheapo stereo that the volume went up and down when you turned the dashlight rheostat). Pieces of wood in place of left brake pads. 4 different size tires, with the original spare untouched and corroded in place. Gas filler breather tube run to transfercase breather. Vapour cannister hooked to lid of power steering (he drilled the lid and glued the fitting on!) and the tranny lines attached to the steering box! Air shocks that are 3 inches too short! 2 bolts holding the driver's door on. Took a hammer to the tailgate glass to get it open (anyone else felt that way? I put a manual crank in right away!) Seats were JB welded in place with bolts removed plus driver's seat was held up with it's own belt, and the windows were all left down since '95 to '98. Headliner reattached with screwtacks FROM the back! Fuel pump upside down and the lines on backwards. A rag stuffed in the air inlet and GLUED there!
