I believe these are credits back from the factory. It varies from make to make, but there is a lot of interesting accounting that goes on between the dealers and the factory. Sure they'll show you the invoice, but the other stuff isn't as well known. I'm not up to date on all the dealer incentive programs, or how they do it. But I can find out from some friends in the business... Anyway, this guy may have gotten his rig repainted because the dealer had unused funds in one of these warranty accounts and did it as way of keeping the customer happy, or because it was a legitimate warranty issue.
