Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hey ya'll I am in the process of cleaning out my garage so that i amy start working on my Jeep. However before i can start work on my new project i must get rid of some old Jeep stuff. I have a Amc 401 engine, TH400 tranny, Quadratrac Transfer case, and two drive shafts, details are below. All of these parts came from a 1977 Jeep Cherokee Chief. AMC 401 Engine, This is for someone looking for a project engine. It will need to be torn down and rebuilt before I would recomend dropping it into your truck. I have a new Edelbrock intake manifold on it, new headman headers, new alternator, new plugs and wires, the starter, new starter solinoid, Edelbrock valve covers, year old fuel pump, and a few other small items. But it has not been run in a while and is goining to require a rebuild. The block is in great shape, no cracks, and the heads could will need a good cleaning. TH400 Tranny, This tranny is in good shape. only problem is the my drive shaft broke recently and took a small piece out of the side, right above the pan. I got it to stay seeled tight for about 6 months with J.B. weld and a new B&M pan, but it has recently started leaking again. If you can weld or have easy action to someone who can weld this could be easily fixed. Other then that this tranny has never let me down. Ran perfectly, no problems or skips. Quadratrac transfer Case, I got this case about a year ago for a company that remanufactures them, I blew the old chain on it and replaced it with a brand new heavy duty double thick chain. Has the high low reduction unit and lever if you need it. No leeks, and in the three or so months I have run it gave me no problems. Drive shafts, stock drive shafts, no prblems, one or tow new U-joints, and I have one or two extra new U-joints. Both front and rear, off of a 77 Jeep cherokee chief. I would prefer not to have to ship any of these parts, and would preferably like to find someone who would come and pick them up. I will sell as a group or individually. I don't know what to ask for a whole or individually, so I will let this go to you all. I live in Atlanta Ga. If you are interested please e-mail me at Teammaness-at-aol.com, please ask me any questions, or if you want give me a price. I will say that I want to get rid of this stuff quick and will accept any decent offers. Also while I am overhauling this Jeep if anyone can think of any part that they may need please e-mail me and if I don't need it on the new truck I will be willing to work out a fair price. I did manage to retain the special clips that hold the wires to the posts on the coil. But I replaced wire on the + side and had to solder to the old connector. Maybe a cold solder joint there. But about this cap. What are you thinking is the actual purpose of this cap? Do you think it keeps the coil volts from jumping out one of the posts to ground? I guess I'm off to ... dealership for this item? I may have trouble with the MTBE thing too. Memphis is one of the most air-polluted cities and is on the list of places forced to use this fuel from what I understand... And did they just recently quit putting the MTBE in fuel. Seems like I heard they were now NOT putting this stuff in the fuel. Of course the 2-4cent per gallon increase they got when they started putting it in will NOT be removed I'm sure. I believe that they integrated the heat/ac controls in the dash but left the a/c stuff down below. they just put a blank where the controls are. I've looked at this before, the a/c is just controlled from up top on the newer rigs, but the vents are still below. I can see in the engine picture where the same a/c pump that Old Blue had will bolt right in. :) Superdawg has a different type of compressor, so there is hope you could even use an xj's compressor. Your umbrella will fit nicely behind the seat on this nice new truck. You had mentioned that the base truck was stickered at 12 bills; and that this one went for 16 when it was new. Let's see.... - Large mirrors, sliding rear window, carpeting, headliner, door trim coverings, 360 engine with the factory towing package, auto trany, Chrome sport wheels, chrome rear bumper, & deluxe leather wrapped steering wheel This should all total around 4 bills extra. Well, I don't know about CA, but in CO. you have to pass emissions for the year of the body or the engine (which ever one is newer). So, if you put a 77 Cherokee engine in a 72 Wagoneer you would have to pass 77 emissions specs. Or if you put a 77 body on a 72 frame with a 72 engine, you would still have to pass the 77 emission specs. I think the CA was the same way when I lived there in 89-91.
