There I was, sitting in a fenderwell prying off spring retainers and the main spring pack from the rear, but what do I see pulling into the drive but Turtle Dan... and his amazing XJ!! :) Dan told me the details of how he went turtle... he actually did a 1.5 turtle. Seems that he was proving how much better an XJ was than a TJ and took the line a bit higher than the TJ, and a bit higher than he should of considering that when his left tire went up, his right tire went into a crevace... that's when he realized he goofed... Dan also recounted how everything that was on the floor ends up on the ceiling... including mud, water from the ice chest, cotter pins, loose change, long lost items and so on. In short, it's better to dig under the seats for those times than to have them on the headliner. :) Someday I hope to implement some of Dan's ideas on the little wagoneer... like right after I get my wife another Jeep... ;) Dan had come by to pick up some parts from Jim Blair to reassemble his rig. Of course Dan had to play with Jim's toys... :) Dan was amazed at how light the back of the cherokee was... http://www.wagoneers.com/JEEPS/FESTS/Dan-John-00June18-Snohomish/ rickshaw dan??? ;) (BTW, I took some more shots of the frame rails, there really is a frame on these things... it's not unibody, but a uniframe as advertised. :) http://www.wagoneers.com/XJ/tech/XJ-parting-PART-DEUX/XJ-frame-rail.jpg http://www.wagoneers.com/XJ/tech/XJ-parting-PART-DEUX/ check this out: http://www.wagoneers.com/XJ/tech/XJ-parting-PART-DEUX/aye-captian-shes-break ingup.jpg (the pictures of dismantled rigs is sometimes helpful when working on rigs you don't want to dismantle... ;) enjoy the pictures... So, I get back to work on the calculations... sitting at the computer with the spreadsheet and in walks my daughter, "I'm hungry". She wanted to go to outback for father's day... :) ok. So we go to outback... 30 to 40 minute wait at eight... ok. So we go to Janbo's, just down Everet Mall Way a few blocks from Outback... Janbo is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the known world. Dad is very happy now. Of course Dad had Hot and Sour Soup and extra spicy Mandarin Fried Chicken... :) urp. Daughter and wife are somewhat less than excited about the food, but reminded me that I had some mints waiting at home... :) In the meantime Superdawg is left dangling in driveway... the saga continues... http://www.wagoneers.com/FSJ/tech/Suspension/J10-poormans-lift/ Not only do I need to reassemble the springs, but I need to finish the body lift on the cab, but also fix the leak in the rear differential, guess now would be a good time to switch it over to amsoil synthethic 75w90 gear lube... :) Hope y'all had a good weekend, time to call an end to this one here... My name is Rienk, and i'm from the Netherlands (Europe). I have a 1969 Wagoneer with an inline 6 258 cu.in. in it. I've had it stored for some years, and finally got around to stripping it, for a full restauration. There's some rust here and there, but not too terrible, considering our rust promoting climate and the age of the Jeep. Only real problem will be the tailgate. I also plan on hopping up the 258 a bit, probably by turbocharging it. Therefore, without harrassing the guy (who isn't much older than I am, but bought it from an old guy who originally purchased it), I'm comfortable with the idea that it's an NP208 part time transfer case as this agrees with the factual evidence we've seen thus far from eye witness account and documented material... ;) (I shouldn't answer questions like this after a class in apologetics... I have a new appreciation for the book of Luke and Acts... ;) The probability that it is something other than an NP208 exists, but it is unlikely... Did you hear on the news that somewhere back east, I think, they were protesting for RATS RIGHTS??? What, they've never heard of the bubonic plague or something? Or are they still thinking they evolved from a rodent? Or maybe they believe they have been reincarnated from a rodent??? Yet these same lunatics call the Bible a myth???? Prepare for a trip to the clouds folks, it can't be much longer... ;) (we'll come back in about 7 years for our FSJ's... they'll survive the tribulation period and be here to use in the Kingdom... not sure if we'll really care, but from all I can determine they'll still be around.
