J20? what other axles? seems that my J10 dump trailer was over loaded, the tire blew and the spindle damaged... considering the complexity of the disc brake setup it might be cheaper to put a J20 axle in it's place to increase its load capacity... jim, you got any j10 or j20 axles laying about? if so, how much? :) john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -o|||||o- Snohomish, Washington - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://JohnMeister.com HTTP://WAGONEERS.COM http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 1 Jun 2011 12:37:30 -0700 (PDT) From: john Subject: fsj: Re: [WJ-Grand] Re: xj: TDI Jeep On Wed, 1 Jun 2011, Victor Jorge wrote: # Hey, # I was just reading an old off-road magazine and saw a company who specializes # in TDI conversions for Jeeps. The mercedes Diesels are much more affordable, as are the kits... but for power to weight and options the TDI is hard to beat, especially in a lighter vehicle. something more modern offers more opportunities for tweaking and parts in remote areas... I'm putting the SD33T Turbo Diesel I'm putting in my '83 J10 stepside: have one extra, and may have found a transmission... http://www.4btswaps.com/forum/showthread.php?1525-nissan-sd-33 would then wait for my '83 stepside to be done, would trade the '83 j10 long box for a cj/yj/tj and put the sd33t/rv-727/np2?? into it... and have two Diesel Jeeps... :) john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -o|||||o- Snohomish, Washington - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://JohnMeister.com HTTP://WAGONEERS.COM http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 1 Jun 2011 14:16:28 -0700 (PDT) From: john Subject: fsj: 2 Cj-10a Jeeps - running - FS in Arkansas... I'm sending this to the cj-10, fsj, wj and xj lists... Hey guys, a couple CJ-10a's - RUNNING, down in Ar-kansas (as the German POW's I met would say)... contact Craig at: # remington870x-at-gmail.com # thanks, # Craig. (more info below) Tempting, I found out I have a relative in Arkansas, but that would be really tough to get them back up here to Seattle, especially behind a VW Jetta... :) yes, those beds ARE heavy, same with the bumpers, no great loss in getting rid of them... fwiw, I sold the ballast on mine for $350 to a guy wanting to do blacksmithing... nearly killed ourselves putting it in the back of his truck... a couple of us had to hang off the back of the engine hoist to put it in his truck... loads of fun since it was sitting partially in gravel... :) and then landing it in the bed and getting it on board enough... sure did load his 1/2T pickup down pretty serious like... :) I loved mine, and if I could have put Air conditioning in it would probably still be driving it around... it inspired me to put the SD33T in my '83 J10 stepside... and you're right, does sound like the starter solenoid... having the same kind of issue with my '83 J10 with a 360. need to pick up the part this afternoon... john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -o|||||o- Snohomish, Washington - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://JohnMeister.com HTTP://WAGONEERS.COM http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Wed, 1 Jun 2011, Craig Remington wrote: # John, # I bought them back in 07/8 when they were bringing some good money from # Govt Liq.
