I've had several Diesels that couldn't do that. But I just bought my wife a very nice, super clean, low mileage, freshly rebuilt automatic transmission equipped 2002 Jetta TDI sedan. It's a GLS like my wagon, same options... heated leather, moonroof, monsoon stereo with controls on the wheel, but it has only 112,000 miles and no dents, scratches or issues... It's a very nice white with a tan interior. And, the timing belt was just replaced about 10k ago... AND the intake manifold was replaced... only things I'm going to do to it is switch it over to amsoil ATF and put a panzer plate on it. oh... it "had" a CEL light, I threw my tester on it and it spit up a glow plug code, I cleared it, my guess is that it was triggered by the shop when they replaced the transmission... the shop also forgot to put the battery and engine covers and the belly pan back on... If the CEL returns it's either a glow plug or the harness, mine had the same issue. here's the pictures: http://fotomeister.us/2011/06-Jun-17-White-Jetta-TDI/ALL.html the Rav4 is on Seattle Craigslist... very nice vehicle: http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/clo/2447482668.html so kudos to all those that knew the Rav4 wouldn't be staying long... kind of sad to see it go because of what it represents, the leather seats are comfy and in my mind that factory limited slip is way cool... but preferred to drive my Jetta over it... actually prefer to drive my Jetta over the WJ we sold and the dearly departed 300D. I'd venture to say that the Jetta and VW TDIs are the replacements for the used Mercedes Diesel autos... considering the dump in quality benz took in '96 - '99... or at least the reputation... I seriously considered a W210... even willing to fix one... but like one of the experienced listers repeatedly pointed out... there's nothing on one of those cars that can't be fixed with a couple thousand bucks... and my research into repairs validated that statement... just couldn't find a decent 124 that wasn't tired or didn't need something. So, we're now officially a two VW Jetta and two Jeep household. this works out well toward my eventual goal of two vehicles... my wife will have the Jetta that we'll use as our family car and whenever Superdawg is done he'll be my daily driver Diesel running WVO and BioDiesel, utility rig and so on... no word from curtis... john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -o|||||o- Snohomish, Washington - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://JohnMeister.com HTTP://WAGONEERS.COM http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #3727 **************************
